HEEL-PLATE FOR MENS SHOES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No, 607,686, dated July 19, 1898.
Application filed December 2, 1897. Serial No, 660,560. (No model.)
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MICHAEL IIEISEB, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Euclid, in the county of Ouyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Heel-Plates for Mens Shoes,
of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to heel-plates for mens shoes; and it consists in the construction and arrangement of fastening the plate to the heel of the shoe, substantially as hereinafter described, and pointed out in the and it stands upright in front of the proje'c tion 13. E is a thumb-screw in the top part of the projection, designed to bear against the back of the plate 0. At the forward end of the plate A is attached an upright plate F, having a backwardly-curved sharp edge G. These parts are designed for attaching the heel-plate to the heel of the shoe, which is done by first placing the plate F against the front straight edge of the heel. Then raise the other end to place. Then screw up the thumb screw to press the curved plate 0 against the back of the heel of the shoe, thereby clamping the plate A firmly.
I I are detachable sharp points screwed into the plate A for making it non-slipping. These points may be removed for sharpening or replacing by others.
Having described nay-invention, I claim- The combination with the plate A of the projection B, having the thumb-screw E, and
the opening Z), the curved plate 0 hinged in said opening I), and the forward plate F having curved and sharpened edge G, substantially as described.
7 MICHAEL HEISER.
