SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 601,732, dated April 5, 1898.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, GEORGE WESLEY Mc- COLLOM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Council Bluffs, in the county of Pottawattamie and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adj ustable N ursing-Bottle Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.-

My invention relates to a holder for nursing-bottles and the object is to provide a simple and convenient device for supporting a nursing-bottle for infants while feeding.

To this end the invention consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of the same, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

In the accompanying drawings the same reference characters indicate the same parts of the invention.

Figure 1 is a perspective View of my improved nursing-bottle holder as it appears fixed to the infants chair or table, with the lower portion of the supporter shown in section. Fig. 2 is a detail view of the pivot and the locking-latch. v

1 represents a plate or block provided with a vertical central orifice to receive 'a pivotbolt 2, the flanged head 3 of which bears on the upper face of the plate or block, and they shank extends through an 'alined orifice in the table-leaf 4, its lower projecting end 5 being formed with an annular groove 6 to engage the locking-latch 7. This latch 7 consists of a flat metal plate provided at one end with an orifice 8 to receive a screw 9, on which the latch turns. A recess 10 engages the annular groove 6 in the pivot-bolt 2 to secure it in position. The free end of the latch-plate is curved outwardly to form a handle for conveniently manipulating it.

12 represents an approximately C-shaped spring-wire arm, the lower end of which'is fixed to the plate or block 1, and its upper resilient end is fixed in a supporting-plate 13, horizontally arranged above the table and in about the same horizontal plane with the infants mouth.

14 represents an approved form of nursingbottle, which is removably held in place on the supporting-plate 13 by means of the staxplacement while the bottle is in use.

Of course it will be understood that the spring-arm 12 may be readily adjusted to the proper height, and the support maybe swung around on its pivot-bolt out of the way of the child when not in use, or it maybe conveniently detached from the table, chair, or other object to which it will be temporarily secured by means of the latch-plate 7.

Although I have specifically described the construction and relative arrangement of the several elements of my invention'I do not desire to be confined to the same, as such changes or modifications may be made as clearly fall within the scope of my invention without departing from the spirit thereof.

The combination with the resilient arm 12, a supporting-plate 13, fixed thereto, and means as described for securing a nursingbottle to said supporting-plate, of the plate 1, fixed to said resilient arm, and provided with a central orifice, the bolt 2 provided with the annular groove 6,and a latch-plate 7, provided with the recess 10 adapted to removably secure said bolt in place, as and for the purpose set forth.
