IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-CHIMNEYS.
Speeification forming part of Letters Patent'No. 59.389. dated November 6, 1866.
To all whom it muy concern:
Be it known that I, PETER HAGAN, of Elizabeth City, Union county, State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Lamp-Ghimneys; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 represents a side elevation of this invention. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of the same.

This invention relates to a lamp-chimney which is provided with a flat bulb having on its broad surfaces a series of raised circles, forming a number of reflecting-faces which diffuse the light and increase the illuminating power, and which also enable the chimney to expand and contract within certain limits, so as to prevent breakage.

My chimneys are blown in a mold They can be made cheap, and their advantages will be readily understood from the foregoing de scription.
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent A ehimney having 0nits bulb a series of rings or circles, substantially as and for the purpose Set forth.
