SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 577,832, dated March 2, 1897.
Application filed October 29, 1896. Serial No. 610,498. (N0 p n To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that LHENRI L. BATEs,of Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Elastic House and Decorative Paint; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
My composition for an elastic paint consists of the following ingredients, combined in the proportions stated, viz: one quart acetic acid, one-eighth ounce pounded borax, one-eighth ounce carbonate of soda, one ounce glucose, one-eighth ounce paraffin-wax, one-eighth ounce citronella, one-eighth ounce fine salt, one-eighth ounce' pounded alum, one ounce white-grape juice, and one-eighth ounce niter. What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, -is-- The herein-described composition for an elastic paint for house and decorative purposes, which consists in a mixture of acetic acid, powdered borax, carbonate of soda, glucose, paraffin-wax, citronella, fine salt, powdered alum, White-grape juice, and niter, in the proportions substantially as specified.
