W R E N C H A SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 576,454, dated February 2, 1897.

To all whom, it may cancel-m.
Be it known that I, JOHN H. JENNER, of Leavenworth, in the county of Crawford and State of Indiana, have invented a new and Improved Wrench, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved wrench of the alligator type, and which is simple and durable in construction and readily adjustable for engaging and properly gripping pipes, rods, &c., of diiferent diameters.
The invention consists principally of a re movable jaw and a slidable jaw having its gripping-face at angles to the stock member on which the jaw is fitted to slide.
The invention also consists of certain parts and details and combinations of the same; as will be fully described hereinafter and then pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification,

Thus whenever the jaw 13 is worn out it can be readily removed and replaced by a new one.
The jaw G is preferably made in. the shape of a casing fitted to slide on the member A and is prevented from dropping off the said member by a pin E, attached to the said member and projecting from the sides thereof to engage the sides of the jaw O. Byremoving the pin E the jaw C is slipped off the member A and replaced by a new one whenever necessary.
