IMPROVEMENT IN TRAvELlNG-BAG FRAMES.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent N0. 56,930, dated August 7, 1866.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, NICHOLAS GROEL, of Newark, in the county ot Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Traveling-Bags; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will euable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had 'to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specication.
The kpresent invention particularly relates to the frames of traveling-bags; and its object is to strengthen the two jaws of the frames at the points where they are hinged together, which result is accomplished byincasing such portion of the said jaws within and by sheetmetal plates or bands that are suitably bent therefor, as will be obvious from the following detail description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying plates of drawings., in which- Figure l is a view of a portion of the bagframe with its two jaws open from each other,
showing the hinge at one end, together with my improvement in strengthening such parts of the jaws; and Fig. 2, a transverse sectionl taken in the plane of the line .'12, Fig. l; and Fig. 3 a similar'section to Fig. 2, but taken in the plane of the liney y, Fig. 1.
'A in the drawings represents a portion-ot` the iron frame of a traveling-bag, which is of the usual construction and form., and therefore needs no particular description herein, as it constitutes no part of the present invention.
