SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 54.5,915,dated September 10, 1895.
(No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IRA M. RUSSELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lewiston, in the county of Androscoggin and State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Funnel-Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relatesto certain new and useful improvements in funnel-holders designed for use in filling jugs or other vessels, and especially to means for holding the funnel to a collar by a suitable clamping mechanism, which collar is adapted to play up and down on a vertical rod, a suitable plate carrying said vertical rod, which serves also to -receive the vessel while it is being filled and cause the funnel-holding rod to remain in a perpendicular position.
A further object of the invention resides in the peculiar construction of the clamping mechanism, which holds the tunnel to the sliding collar, and the provision of means for holding a measure within the said funnel and held from tilting sidewise by the provision of a ring which works up and down on the vertical rod carrying the said collar.
To these ends and to such others as the in of reference marked thereon, form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail view of the clampingdevice for holding the funnel.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates the baseplate supporting the vertical rod B, the baseplate adaptedto hold a vessel being filled. O is a funnehand D a sliding collar working on said rod.
E is an integral portion of the collar, forming one of the jaws for holding the funnel.
F is the second jaw, which has a recess f registering with the recess e on the integral portion E, which recesses are provided for the purpose of holding the rim G of the funnel.
The jaws are held together by means of the Having thus described my invention, What I claim to be new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination with a funnel having a wire K, the vertical rod B carrying said funnel, a measure L, a ring N on said measure adapted to work on the said rod, and the opening of the said measure designed to rest upon the said Wire, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I a'flix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
IRA M. RUSSELL.
