IMPROVEMENT IN OX-YOKES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 54,176., dated April 24, '1866.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, WM. B. KRUM, of Troy, in the county of Bradford and State of Penn- Sylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement on au OX-Yoke and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed Y drawings, making' a part of the specilcation,
in which- Figure l is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a sectional View.
A, Fig. l, is the main yoke; B B, the independent collar; G C, the bows; D D D D D D D D, the staples of hinge; E E, main bolt of hinge. The collar B is held to the main yoke A by a hinge, which is formed of D E, as shown in Fig.I 2, which allows it to swing and adapt itself to the neck of the ox, and the bows always remain perpendicularwith the neck.
I claim- The independent action of collar B and bows C from main yoke A, which is produced by means of hinge formed by D E, which allows the bows to always remain in an easy position when the oXen are plowing or working on uneven ground, which improvement does away with the cramping and twisting produced by the old method.
