SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 533,683, dated February 5, 1895.
Application filed May 9,1894. Serial No.510,660. (No model.)
To alZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SAUL TRILLER, a subject of the Emperor ofAustria-Hungary, residing at IV Schauinburggasse 38, Vienna, Austria-Hungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Siphon-Heads, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to siphon heads.
The heads of siphons for soda water or other waters containing carbonic acid as at present used are manufactured of cast tin with the upper head fixed and the valve forming the closing device operated by a lever shaped finger. This construction is objectionable as the cap which closes the upper head drops after a certain time, so that dirt can accumulate and the siphon head becomes inoperative.
By myimprovem cuts and by the use of cast soft iron, as the material it has become possi-' ble to rigidly connect the valve rod with the head, to make the latter movable and to close the same from all dust or other impurities; none of the single parts can be lost and there is no danger that the siphon head may become useless.
In the drawings Figure 1, shows an exterior view of the siphon head. Fig. 2, shows a longitudinal section of the siphon head in the direction of the exit tube. Fig. 3, is a view of details. Figs. 5, 6 and 7 show details. Figs. 4, 8 and 9 show details of a modified form.

The finger 11 plays in the slots h h, Fig. 9, and is guided by the reinforcement k of the valve rod 0.
The whole head which as has been said is preferably made of cast soft iron is tinned or nickeled.
The device may be made of any suitable material as aluminium.
What I claim is'- 1. In combination in a siphon head, the head piece a, the lower part C having upward extension fitting into the head piece and slotted, the valve, the valve stem having the perforated head piece, the block lo having a perforation and an extension 7o fitted on the head piece a, and the cross pin passing through the head of the valve, the block 7a, the slotted extension and engaging the head piece 0; whereby the same is guided vertically and all the parts connected and the spring around the valve stem bearing on the block 70' and the washer 19, substantially as described.
2. In combination in asiphon head, the hollow head piece a, the lower part 0 having an upward extension fitting into the head piece and slotted, the valve stem, the cross piece extending through the valve stem and the slotted extension and engaging the head piece and the spring about the valvestem for holding the valve to the seat, substantially as described.
