SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 521,457, dated June 19, 1894.
Application filed April l2, 1894.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, THOMAS B. BURNETT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Mulvane, in the county of Sumner and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Halters; and vI do hereby declare the following to be afull,clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to halters, and it consists in the novel construction and combination of the parts hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings: Figure lis aside view of the halter. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same from below,'showing .the halter spread flat and displaying the course of the rope through the perforated plates.
A is the adjustable head strap provided withl buckles A' of any approved construction.
B are two plates attached to the ends of the head strap and each provided with two holes b.
C is a single continuous rope which forms the main part of thehalter.
D is the fastening plate provided with four holes d and having the ends of the looped rope C drawn crosswise through the holes so that the ends will not slip when drawn tight.
E is the chin plate having two holes eat its lower end, and two holes e' at the other end.
F and F' are the two cheek plates each provided with four holes f and f. The cheek plates are both alike and the same as the fastening plate D. The ropeis passed crosswise through the holes of the plate F and straight through the holes of the plate F. of the rope pass through the two cheek plates head strap and the perforated plates B se cured to its ends, of the chin plate having the holes e' and e, the perforated cheek plates F and F and a single continuous looped rope havingthe central portion of its loop between the said holes e', passing through the holes in the plates B, F and F', and through the said holes e, and forming the nose loops c in its course, substantially as set forth.
2; In a halter,the combination, with the adj ustable head strap and the perforated plates B secured to its ends, of the chin plate having the holes e' and e, the perforated cheek plates F and F', the fastening plate, and a single continuous looped rope, having the central portion of its loop between the said holes e', and having its ends passed crosswise through the holes of the said fastening plate, and passing through the holes in the plates B, F and F' and forming the nose loops c in its course, substantially as set forth.
