PHOTOGRAPHlC-PRINTING FRAME FOR PORCELAIN OR GLASS PICTURES.
Specilieation forming part of Letters Patent No. 51,323, dated l')eceniber5,18ti5.
To alt 'whom t may concern;
Be it known that I, WILLIAM J noon KUIINs, of the city of Brooklyn, Kings county, State of New York, have invented a new and Iniproved Frame for Printing Porcelain or Glass Pictures; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof', reference being had to the accompanying photograph, and to the letters ot' reference marked thereon. t
The nature ot' my invention consists of a slot, A, on the side ot' the frame to admit the projection A on the end of the small part of the lid to tit in, so that when pressed on the negative will be kept tirm in its place, and thus the lid B may be raised for the purpose of examining the print and closed again, with both negative and impression in the exact same position.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now proceed to describe the mode of using it.
Place the negative in the frame, fasten down 1 the small end oi'l the lid with the spring or setserew, place the prepared porcelain or glass upon the negative in the proper position, put on the back of the porcelain or glass a small quantity of wax or wax and rosin melted together, press down the large part of the lid to which the porcelain or glass will adhere, and when the lid is raised for the purpose of cxamining the progress ofthe printing` the porcelain or glass will adhere to it and be heid in the proper position for again covering the negative, when closed, in the exact position from whence it was taken.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
rIhe slots A A on the side of the frame, admitting the projections A A on the end ot' the small partof the lid, and by which the negative is securely retained in a permanent position.
