TROUSERS-HANGER.

The object of my invention is to provide a device for hanging trousers, which will hold them in the best position for retaining their shape, and at the same time economize room to the fullest extent.
.My invention consists of a loop made of cord furnished at opposite ends with hooks, and provided with a button cleat and rings for tighteningthe cord upon the legs of the trousers, all as will be hereinafter more fully described.
The cord A is passed through the eye of the hook B, and one end a is attached to the button cleat (J, and the other end is passed through the button cleat and furnished with Upon the looped cord between the hook B and the button oleat O, are placed the rings d, which fit the two strands of the cord tightly, but are capable of being moved there on. The hook D, which receives the knotted end of the cord A, isprovided with an eye 6, having the circular opening f which will allow the knots to pass through, and the contracted portion g which receives the cord but retains the knot. The looped cord is stretched between clothes hooks E, E, as shown in Fig. l, and the lower ends of the trousers legs are inserted between the strands of the cord and clamped by sliding the rings (1 toward or against the trousers legs, thus drawing the strands of the cord closely against the trousers.
By means of my improvement the trousers may be suspended in a closet without taking up but comparatively little room, and the trousers will be suspended in the manner best suited to cause them to maintain theirshape.
In putting my invention into practice, I do not limit or confine myself to any particular material for the cord, hooks or rings, nor to any special design for the rings or hooks.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A trousers hanger, formed of a looped cord, hooks attached to opposite ends of the cord, a button cleat attached to one end of the cord and engaging theother end, and rings placed on the looped cord, substantially as specified.
2. In a trousers hanger, the combination of the hook B, the knotted looped cord A, the
button ole-at O, the rings (1 placed on the loop 7 of the cord, and the hook D provided with the eye 6 having the contracted portion g, substantially as specified.
ARTHUR C. NASH.
