Beit known that I, FRANK ANTHONY FnUM- VILLEE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of IVayne and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Beer-Faucet, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in beer-faucets, the objects in view being to provide a faucet of cheap and simple construction adapted to be applied to any of the ordinary bung-faucets, and so constructed as to be applied or removed to the same without removing the bung or rod, and thus obviating any change of pressure upon the beer or permitting it to become fiat by reason of such application or removal, wherebyI am enabled to draw the beer either at the point of location of the keg or at some distant point.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will appear in the following description, and the novel features thereof will be particularly pointed out in the claims.

Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a portion of a keg provided with an ordinary faucet and my improved eXtension-faucet applied to the same. Fig. 2 is a detail in perspective of my improved faucet. Figs. 3 and 4 are modifications of the same. Fig. 5 is a vertical longitudinal sectional View through a portion of the faucet shown in Fig. 1.

The keg l. has projecting from its bung the usual bung-faucet 2, having the ordinary key or cock 3, beyond which it is threaded, as at 4, leaving the intermediate reduced annular space 5 between the threads and the key.

Mounted loosely upon the inner end of the tube, in front of the disk 7, is an exteriorlythreaded sleeve 9, provided at diametricallyopposite sides and at its front end with th u mb'- lugs 10. An internally-threaded collar 11 is mounted upon the sleeve 9 and is provided with a pair of diverging arms 12, formed rigid therewith. tween the terminals of the yoke perforated having perforations 14 formed transversely in its extremities. In line with the space belugs l5 are formed upon the colla-r 11, and between the same by a pinile 16 there is pivoted an arm I7, similar to the arms 12. The arm 17 has at its free end a transverse longitudinally-perforated hub 18, which when the arm is closed or lowered takes between the terminals of the yoke 13 and has its perforation in line with those of the terminals. In this position the arm may be locked, and thus theyoke made continuous through the medium of the hub by means of a removable pin 19, connected by a small chain 20 to an adjacent arm 1'7. A vent tube 21 is located in and communicates with the discharge-tube 6. It will be understood that the bung-faucet 2 is provided with the usual pressure-pipe 22, which may lead to any suitable source of air-supply.

In applying the extensible faucet the arm 17 is disconnected with the pin 19 and swung outwardly, so that the yoke 13 maybe introduced into the annular space 5 of the bungfaueet. The arm 17 is then closed and locked by the pin 19. The discharge-tube 6 is now turned in the desired direction and the sleeve 9 run down upon the collar 1l, whereby the inner end of the discharge-tube 6 is forced into the end of the bung-faucet, the packing 8 constituting a snug joint and preventing any escape of the beer. The key or cock 3 being below the attachment may be turned oif so as to prevent a decrease of pressure upon the beer, and in a similar manner it is turned off when the attachment is removed for the purpose of reconvertin g the bung-faucet into the discharge device. 9o

Various other ways will readily suggest themselves as a means for securing the attachment tothe faucet, and I have herein illustrated two ways which come to mind.

In Fig. 3, 23 designates the discharge-tube, 24 the packing-disk at the inner end of the same, and 25 an internallythreaded yoke swiveled on the tube in front of the packingdisk and provided with thumb-lugs 26 at diametrically-opposite sides. By running the yoke upon the threaded end 4 of the bungfaucet the inner end of the tube 23 is,- as in the previous instance, clamped in position.

In Fig. 4 the tube 27 has at its inner end ICO the packing-disk 28, andin front of the same has fixed thereon the' exteriorly-threaded boss or sleeve 29. An internally-threaded collar 30, mounted on the sleeve, has arms 31 extending rearwardly therefrom, and they support the yoke 32, in which is removably secured the hinged arm 33. The operation of this modified construction is somewhat similar to that in Fig. 1. The yoke is placed over the bung-faucet and the device tightened to position by rotating the tube 27.

Thus it will be seen that various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of my invention, and I therefore do not limit the same to the precise construction herein shown and described.

When the faucet is in use, the key 3 is employed, as is usual. The small air-tube 21 is beveled on its outer end and slightly upwardly turned, thus permitting all the beer thatmay remain in the bend of the main tube to escape immediately without slowly dropping therefrom, as would otherwise be the case.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is 1. The herein-described beer-faucet, provided With means for attaching the same to a bung-faucet and with an air-tube 21, located gear its discharge end,substantially as speci- 2. The' herein-described beer-faucet, the same being adapted to be inserted into the end of a bung-faucet and provided in rear of its extremity with a disk7 and a packing-disk 8, combined with means for clamping the same upon the bung-faucet, substantially as specified.

3. The herein-described beer-faucet, the same consisting of a dischargetube 6, having the packing-disk and washer at its inner end, clamping-yoke mounted on the tube in front of the disk and extending rearwardly beyond the disk, and means for lookin g the yoke upon a bung-faucet, substantially as specified.

4. The herein-described beer-faucet, ad apted at its inner end for connection with a bungfaucet, an externally-threaded sleeve swiveled on the beer-faucet 2, a collar threaded on the sleeve, arms extended from the collar, a yoke connected to the arms and adapted to engage the beer-faucet, and means for locking the yoke and for rotating the sleeve, substantially as specified.

5. The herein-.described beer-faucet, the same consisting of a tube adapted at its rear end for connection with a bung-faucet, an externally-threaded sleeve mounted on the tube, a collar threaded on the sleeve and provided with arms and between the same with lugs, a U -shaped yoke adapted to engage the bungfaucet connected with the arms, an arm pivoted between the lugs and provided with a hub perforated in alignment with the terminals of the yoke, and a locking-pin removably passed through the terminals of the yoke and the hub of the arm, substantially as specified.

6. The combination, with the bung-faucet tube having the key 3, threaded portion 4, and reduced portion 5, of the tube 6, the rear end of which is fitted into the threaded portion 4, the disk 7, and the packing-disk 8, interposed between the disk 7 and the end of the bung-faucet, the externally-threaded sleeve 9, mounted on the tube and having thumb-lugs 10, the collar 11, and the rearwardly-extending arms 12, the U -shaped yoke 13, adapted to fit the grooved portions 5 of the bung-faucet and having the perforatious 14, the arm 17, pivoted to the collar and hav ing the hub 18 perforated in alignment with the terminals of the yoke, and the removable pin 19 for locking the arm and yoke,substan tially as specified. l
