SUPPORTING ATTACHMENT FOR ICE-CREAM FREEZERS.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISABELLA G. Hor- KINS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of St. Augustine, in the county of St. John and State of Florida, have invented a new and Improved Supporting Attachment for Ice-Cream Freezers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to supporting attachment for ice cream freezers and the like, and more particularly such as are adapted to mount the freezers on a wall or other support, so that they will be conveniently positioned for use, and each of which in general consists of a detachable band adapted to fit around a freezer, hooks on the collar for securing the same to a support; a spout carried by the collar and adapted to be received by the outlet opening in the freezer, and a flexible piping connecting the spout and a receptacle for receiving the overflow.
The object of the invention is to provide a device of the class described, simple and serviceable in construction and inexpensive to manufacture, which can readily be at tached to the ordinary ice cream freezer, so that the latter can be conveniently positioned for use, and which is provided with a spout through which the overflow caused by the melting of the ice in the freezer, can easily be drawn off.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.
Figure l is a perspective view showing an embodiment of my invention applied to an ice cream freezer, by means of which the latter is removably mounted on a support; Fig. 2 is an enlarged cross section on the line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an enlarged longitudinal section of the locking mechanism and spigot; and Fig. 4 is an enlarged side elevation of the same.
Before proceeding to a more detailed description of my invention, it should be understood that, as before described, I provide an attachment to be used with an ice cream freezer whereby the latter can be re movably positioned on some suitable support, such as a wall or the like. Then thus mounted, it is in a more convenient position for the user to operate the crank, as it obviates the necessity of his having to bend Specification of Letters Patent.

over. Arranged on the collar which encircles the freezer is a spout which is received by the outlet opening. The spout is adapted to have a flexible pipe connected thereto so that the overflow from the freezer can be drawn into some suitable receptacle, thereby obviating the necessity of emptying the freezer at intervals as the ice melts.
In the specific form shown in the drawings, I provide a band 1 having its ends slightly separated, and which is substantially annular in form and constructed of any suitable material, such as iron, steel or the like. At opposite points of the band, and secured in place by means of rivets 2, are eye brackets 3, which carry hooks 4. The free ends of the latter are adapted to be received by eye bolts 5, which are mounted on any suitable support, such as a wall or the like, as shown most clearly in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings.
Located at one of the ends of the band 1, and secured in place by means of rivets or screws 6 is a member 7. The member 7 has a portion 9 which is enlarged and which is provided with a preferably integral transverse sleeve or spout 11. The latter extends beyond the member 7 at either side of the opening, so that when the band is in place on the freezer, the inner portion 12 of the spout will be received by the outlet opening.
13 of the freezer. As shown mostclearly in Fig. 2 of the drawings, a flexible pipe 14 may be connected to the outer end of the spout, so that the overflow from the freezer can be easily carried off. The outer end 15 of the member 7 is bifurcated. Pivotally arranged between the bifurcated portion of the member 7, and secured in place by means of a pivot pin 16, is a locking member 18 having one of its ends 19 inwardly disposed and formed to constitute a handle. The other end 20 of this member is tapered, for a purpose to be hereinafter described.
Located at the other end of the band 1 from that which carries the member 7 and secured in place by means of rivets or screws 21 is a keeper 22. The latter has its free end 23 outwardly and rearwardly disposed and adapted to be received by the bifurcated end 15 of the member 7. The curved face 24 of the extremity of the member 22 is provided with a notch 25 which serves to receive the tapered end 20 of the locking mem ber 18.
In the operation of the device, the band is arranged about the freezer so that the spout 11 will fit into the outlet opening 13. 111 this position, the handle of the lock ing member 18 is held away from the band 1. WV hen, however, it is desired to draw the attachment tightly in place, the handle is forced toward the band, the end 20 of the locking member serving to draw the band tight through the medium of the keeper 22. The attachment being thus firmly secured in place, the device, by means of the hooks 4;, can be readily mounted on any suitable support, as shown in the drawing, the crank of the freezer being in a convenient position to l a 'rasped by the operator.
Having thus described my invention, 1 claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. In a device of the class described, a band, a member secured to one end of said band, a spoutcarried by said member and adapted to be received by an outlet opening of an ice cream. freezer, a keeper located at the otl or end of said band, and means on said member for remorably locking said keeper thereto.
2. Ina device of the class described, a band, a member secured to one end of said band, a spout carried by said member and adapted to be received by an outlet opening of an ice cream freezer, a keeper located at the other end of said band, means on said member for removably locking said keeper thereto, and means for securing said band to a support.
in a device of the class described, a band adapted to be arranged about an ice cream freezer, rocks on said band for securing said freezer to a support, and means for locking said band on said freezer, said means consisting of a member secured to one end of said band, a keeper secured to the other end of said band, and a lever on said member for engaging the end of said keeper, said lever being operable to tighten said band on said freezer.
at. The combination with an ice-cream freezer, of a band adapted to encircle the same, and provided with a spoutprojecting upon each side of the band and adapted to be received by an outlet opening in the freezer, and means for locking the ends of the band together.
5. The combination with an ice-cream freezer, of a band for inclosing the same and provided with a spout for registering with an outlet opening in the freezer and means for securing the band in place.
