SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 472,595, dated April 12, 1892.
Application filed December 24. 1891. Serial No. 418.080; (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM WACHS, of Covington, Kenton county, Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Roasting or Baking Pans, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates t'o certain new and useful improvements in roasting or baking pans of that class wherein two pans are so arranged and constructed relatively to each other that they may be used as a single covered or as two single pans.
The invention consists in attaching to a covered roasting-pan a spit that will pass through the center of the roast and is then fixed in proper bearings made for it in the center of the bottom pan, so that it can he revolved freely inside said covered roastingpan, thereby preventing the burning or unequal roasting of the joint or roast. I attain these objects bythe mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which v Figure 1 represents the roasting-pan open with the spit attachment in position. Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the pan, showing the round-edge finish by doubling the sheet-iron on the three sides of bottom pan. Fig. 3 represents the spit; Fig. 4, a section of it on lines 1 and 2 of Fig. 3.
