UNITED STATES v PATENT OFFICE.
MARY CATHERINE POIVELL, OF PARKER, SOUTH DAKOTA.
STAND FOR DISH-PANS OR OTHER VESSELS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 460,832, dated October 6, 1891.
Application filed April 22, 1891.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MARY CATHERINE Pow- ELL,a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Parker, in the county of Turner and State of South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stands or Holders for Dish-Pans or other Vessels; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawin gs, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure .l. of the drawings is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a detail view of the holder.
This invention relates to stands and holders for dish-pans and other vessels; and it hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanying drawings, illustrating the invention, the letter A designates the upper supporting-ring, which consists of a continuous piece of wire bent in the form of a circle. This ring is supported upon the legs a (L a a. Each pair a a and a a of these legsis formed of asingle piece of wireZ) orb, twisted into a solid coil at each end to form the feet 0. The wire forming the legs a a is then carried upwardly at each end to form the leg portions 61, and is coiled two or three times around the upper ring A, as shown. It is then bent downwardly alongside the leg portions (1, to which it is secured by small wires f, or otherwise suitably connected. This wire is then turned inward horizontally from each leg portion, as shown at g g, these two pairs of arms approaching each other toward the center, where they are united by the outwardly-curved portions 7t and 7;. The Wire forming the legs a a is bent to form the feet 0, legs d, and arms 9 in the same manner as Serial No 389,952. (No model.)
the wire forming the legs a a, but at the center is bent to form the small annular ring F, concentric with the ring A, but some distance beneath said ring, and forms the central bottom portion of the holder. The two ends it of the rings which connect it to the arms g lap each other and are held' together by a small wire I, wound therearound. To the opposite side of this ring is secured the curved portions 7L of thewire, forming the legs a a by means of the small wire Z, the curvature of the ring being coincident with that of the said portion h.
The four arms g, with the ring F, form the bottom of the holder.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The holder or stand comprising the annular ring A, the legs a a a a, each pair of said legs formed of a single piece of wire I) or b, twist-ed at each end into a solid foot-coil O, thence carried upward at each end to form the leg portions D and passed around said ring, thence carried downwardly alongside of the portions (Z and connected thereto, thence extending horizontally inward at right angles from each end portion toward the center, one
.of said wires at its central portion being bent MARY CATHERINE POXVELL. lVitnesses:
J. B. POWELL, W. A. Hours.
