()S'lON, MASSAUHl SE'lTS.
DESIGN FOR AN OIL OR GAS HEATER STAND.
To all whom it may concern;
Be it known that I, AUGUSTINE U. WEs'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at lloston, county of Suffolk, State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced anew and origi- .ial Design for an Oilor Gas Heater Stand, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying d rawing, showing the same.
The leading feature of my invention consists in the heater-stand, provided with the rectangular cap raised above the base upon supports in which appear open portions. The base of the stand 2 which is of rectangular shape supported upon short legs, coniprises an upraised central portion 3 and an inclined surface 4, apertured as shown. This central portion is a circular, flat surface on which rests the heater 5. Surniounting the stand is a cap 6 secured to the base by four posts or columns 7 which support it. These columns are straight rods having midway of their length an enlarged part composed of helical wire coils 8. Said coils are largestin diameter at the center and taper toward the ends which are secured between annular collars 9. The cap 6 before mentioned, in general shape that of a rectangle, is made up of a central flat portion 10, raised above the bounding edges of said cap and is interconnected therewith by two curved surfaces 12. The
13 respectively convex and concave. lower concave surface furnished with root angular apertures 11: arranged lengthwise along it, while the upper is provided with similarly shaped apertures 15 placed transversely. Centrally of the flat surfaced portion 10 springs an oval, dome-shaped prominence l6. Circumfercntially about it appear convergent markings 17. A knob 18 rises from this prominence 16' and this knob is made up of a coiled wire, the diameter of said knob being largest in the middle and tapering toward each end. The handle, a bent rod 19, is of semi-polygonal shape withacen tral, spirally wound or thickened portion 20 largest in the center and diminishing in size at either end.
hat I claim is The design for a gas, or oil heater-stand, substantially as described and shown.
In witness whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
AUGUSTINE 0. WEST.
