(Applicnion filed July 15, 189R I IIH A TTOHNEY,
UNITED STATES JOHN E. MEEK,
PATENT OFFICE.
OF NE\V YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR AN ELECTRIC HEATER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,598, dated April 18, 1899.
Application filed J ly 15, 1898. Serial No. 686,046. Term of patent 14 years.
To (Ml whom it may concern.-
lle it known that 1, JOHN EMORY MEEK, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Electric Heaters, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying d rawiugs for a full description thereof.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of my heater, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the loading or material feature of my design consists of a series of rods A A &e., arranged in a circular form about one of them, as A, and supported at each end in circular heads 13 3. About each of these rods is arranged a spiral coil of Wire C C, &e. The wire and rod in each case should be of different colorsthat is to say, if the rods are oi dark color the wire should be of bright color or highly polished.
Then the wire spiral will show plainly in contrast to the dark background of the rod. The whole is then surrounded by an open-work casing D, supported also by the heads B B. Through the openings E and E in this casing the coils C and rods A can be plainly seen. The openings E E, &c., are oblong in shape, with their greater dimensions parallel to the rods A A.
The whole heater is supported in a horizon tal position on two standards F l as shown.
Having therefore described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an electric heater, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 16th day of June, 1898.
