FLUME OR CONDUIT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 444,496, dated January 13, 1891.

Be it known that I, MYRON H. LAYBOUBN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ne.w Windsor, in the oounty of \Veld and State of Colorado, have invented and produoed a new and original Construction for Flumes or Conduits for Vater for Irrigation and other Purposes, of which the following is a speoification, referenoe beng had to the aooompany ng drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a seotional view of a complete flume, showing my construction. a a is a oast-ron support or bracket fitted for bolting to a single upright post. The uppr ends of the iron or seel arms a a are provided with shoulders b b and bolt-holes c c, whioh receive and secure two horizontal wood strips d (Z, running parallel to the lower edges of whioh are nailed the upper sides or edges of the cireular or trough-shaped rustless or galvanized iron or steel e,the bottom of whioh rests upon and is supported byatimber rnnning the entire length of the fiume and is in turn supported by the upright posts either by rosting on the top thereof or by being bolted one on eaoh side of the top.
Fig. 2 represents a braoket, essentially the same as that described in Fig. 1, exoept that it is provided wth foot or rests, Whoh may be bolted or sorewed to a cross-Lie, whioh may be supported by two or more posts, as shown.
