JOH\ DEITRICK, OF ACASTO, MISSOURI.
WAGON BOLSTER-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 443,571, dated. December 30, 1890.
Application filed February 6, 1890. Serial No. 339.497. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN DEITRICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Acasto, in the county of Clark and State of Missouri, have invented a WVagon Bolster-Plate, (for on top of bolster,) of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to bolster-plates for wagons; and its objects are, first, to prolong the life of the bolster by diminishing the access of deteriorating substances; second, to protect the bolster from the wearing effect of the king-bolt, and, third, to accomplish these ends with structural simplicity and economy. I attain these purposes by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in \vhicl1 Figure 1 represents a perspective view of a bolster having my plate applied thereto, and Fig. 2 is a detail view of the king-bolt.
The same designations indicate corresponding parts in both views.
To an ordinary bolster A, I apply a conterminous plate B by bolts or otherwise. The bolster A has a central recess C to accommo' with the plate B, conterminous therewith, having a central perforation D, concentric with but larger diametrically than the recess 0, and provided with bolt or rivet holes H H I I, and slotted terminally at G G to pass the standards, and the headed king-bolt F, whose body normally rests in the recess 0 and head in the perforation D, as and for the purpose herein fully shown and described.
JOHN DEITRIOK.
