PATENT OFFICE.
oOMBlNEn LlQUOR COOLER AND HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Lettersv Patent No. 415,777, dated November 26, 18:89.
Application inea March 1I, 18891 To @ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES GORDON, a citi zen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvements in a Combined Liquor Cooler and Holder, (Oase 1,) of which the following is a full, clear, concise, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specioat-ion.
My invention relates to wine-coolers; and its object is to provide a cheap and convenient stand for holding the bottles, so that they shall be kept near the ice and yet at the same time be readily accessible.
My invention consists in a revolving holder provided with a central Opening for the ice, and pockets arranged about the circumference of the saine adapted to hold the bottles containing the liquors, the ice-chamber being provided with a ventilated drip-tube extending upwardly to about the center of the same and below into a tank adapted to receive the water formed by the meltingl of the ice.
My invention will be readily understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a detailed elevation, partly in section, of a liquor-cooler embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof upon section-line o@ m of Fig. 1.
Like parts are indicated by similar letters of reference throughout the dierent figures.
The central chamber o. is shown filled with ice. About this chamber are arranged the pocketsb c d e f g M. Each pocket is adapted to hold a single bottle. Thus bottle 7c is shown in place in pocket b. Bottles containing various kinds of liquor may be placed in the different pockets, as desired. Projecting upwardlyinto the center of the ice-chamber and below to the bearing in the bottom of the tank Serial No. 302,804. (No model.)
is provided the perforated tube Z,whioh serves as a drip-outlet for the Water from the icechamber and as a central pivotal support for the revolving holder.
My liquor cooler as thus constructed is cheap and convenient, and especially adapted to be placed upon the bar or in any convenient position, so that the different kinds of liquor will be kept cool and at the same time readily accessible.
My invention admits of various modifications that Will readily suggest themselves to those skilled in the art, and I therefore do not limit myself to the precise details of construction shown.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent--d 1. The combination, with the revolving holder provided with a central ice-'chamber and pockets about the same adapted to receive bottles, of a tank below the holder, and a perforated pivot-tube projecting upwardly into the ice-cha1nber and downwardly into a bearing provided in the tank, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
2. The combination, with the revolving holder provided with a central ice-chamber and pockets about the same adapted to receive the bottles, of a tank below the holder, and a ventilated drip extending upwardly into the ice-chamber and downwardly into the tank, the holder being supported upon the tank above the same and adapted to be revolved to bring any pocket to the front, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name this 6th day of March, A. D. 1889.
JAMES GORDON.
