Be it known that I, HENRY l3. WEAVER, of the city and county of Burlington, and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cork and other Tops or Labels, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Usually these tops are simple adhesive-paper or other like labels, with the name, business,

as to point to any particular hour or division of time, for the purpose hereinbefore named, or other use, as desired.

To the outer portion of the back of the label A is secured the gasket or annulus 6, having an adhesive substance on the face thereof, so

that the said label may be readily fastened and place of business of the vender or other face, with an attached movable index or l pomtercapable-of easilybemgturned to point to any hour on the dial, for the purpose, among other uses, of indicating when the next dose of medicine contained in the bottle to which the cork having said top belongs should be taken. Such adhesive top or label, however, may not only be applied. to the cork of the bottle, but to the side thereof, if desired;

likewise to )ill ointment and other boxes formedicinal or curative purposes.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 represents an upper or face view of a cork or other top or label embodying my invention; Fig. 2, an under or back view of the same; 3, a transverse section thereof, and Fig. 4 a side view of a bottle having my improved dial top or label applied to its cork.

' I am aware that it is not new to employ a dial having a pointer thereon in connection with medicine-bottles to indicate the hour or time when the dose is to be taken; but the particular construction herein set forth, wherein an adhesive coating is placed 011 the outer annular portion of the back of the label, leaving a portion thereof without mucilage or other adhesive substance, so that the inner portion of the fastening device of the pointer or index, and which, as shown, is adapted to rotate with the said index without contact 5 with any of the adhesive substance.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A dial or label for a bottle, consisting of a body portion with dial thereon, and an index or pointer rotatably connected therewith, and

a gasketor annulus secured to the outer back portion of said body and having an adhesive substance on its face, the said gasket being of sufficient thickness to permit the rotation of the index-fastener therewith, said parts being combined substantially as described.
