Abstract
Prefabricated concrete structures are raised and lowered to receive transport vehicles by jacks mounted in the corners of their floors. The lower end of each jack cylinder (11) is coarsely threaded cylindrical member (22) having a smooth guide surface (19) above the threads (18) and an outwardly flaring conical surface (21) above the smooth surface. An anchor plate (14) is embedded in a hole (12) in the concrete floor (13) contoured to mate with and receive the cylindrical member. The anchor plate has a central hole (15) surrounded by an offset split ring (16) to define a single turn thread.

Apparatuses for raising and loweringthe garages are known for loading and unloading these vehiclesvAt the place ofinanufacture the garage is raised in suchl a way that the transporting vehicle with -the loading appliance or a trailer can wholly or partly be driven underneath the garage. The invention is base one known apparatus for raising and lowering prefabricated garages, hereby at least three through openings are provided intlie garage floor. SUMMARYQETHEINVENTION;
According to the invention this problemis solved by an apparatus in which 'the fitting fitted inthe garage floor projects into the openings with projections which are substantially in one plane, whereby in an area adjacent to the fitting counter-projections are provided on the jack foranchoring to the projections of the fitting.
Therefore an important feature of the invention is the construction of the lost fitting fixed in the garage floor which in this case is constructed as a single anchor plate with a hole surrounding the jack. The ring in the hole has a screw thread-like configuration and engages in an outer coarse pitch thread on the jack. The anchor plate is constructed in a single operation by stamping and shaping the ring in the hole to form a screw thread. According to a further feature of the invention, in addition to the anchoring in the lower area of the garage conical extension which engages in a corresponding counter-surface of the garage floor, particularly in the opening thereof. Due to the action of the thread in conjunction with the anchor plate on turning the jack, it is drawn into the opening in the garage floor until the conical contact surface of the jack engages with a cer- 2' tain tension on'the conical counter-surface of the garage floor-.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring'nowztothe drawings, jacks I0 comprisinga hydrauliecylinder ll 'anda downwardly extendable piston lOa-movable therein are used for raising and lowering prefabricated garages of reinforced concrete.
Thefloor 13 of the garage is provided with four openlugs 12 in the corners thereof. The jacks T0 are mounted and anchored in the openings 12, so that the garage forces are transferred to the jacks 10. Byxappropriate shaping, ring 16 is constructed as a screw thread. For this purpose anchor plate 14 has a radial slot 17 extending over the width of the shaped ring 16.,On both sides of radial slot 17 1ringI6 is bent to opposite sides in such a way that screw thread is formed on both sides of the central plate of anchor plate 14. The anchor plate 14 is preferably made in one operation bby simultaneous stamping and shaping.
The lower end of jack 10 is provided externally with shaped parts permitting form-locking with anchor plate 14 by turning jack 10. In the represented preferred embodiment at the lower end of jack 10 is provided a coarse pitch thread 18 in which engages the screw thread-like ring 16 of anchor plate 14 by turning jack 10 in opening 12. The coarse pitch thread 18 is rela tively short, consisting of somewhat less than two turns. If the jack 10 is turned by at least 360 it is sufficient to ensure a stable connection between thread 18 and anchor plate 14. In this case the thread is a trapezoidal thread.
Outside and above thread 18, jack 10 is constructed with a cylindrical guide 19 which fits into the cylindrical opening 12 of floor 13. Guide 19 and the relevant portion of opening 12 insure the lateral guidance of jack 10.
Above guide 19, jack 10 is also provided with a cone 20 which fits into a conical extension 21 of opening 12 in the area of the latter towards the inside of the garage. At the same time the conical extension 21 facilitates the insertion of the lower end of jack- 10 into opening 12.
Preferably the dimensions of cone 20, conical extension 21, thread 18 and anchor plate 14 are so matched to one another that on inserting jack l into anchor plate 14 the outer surface of the cone 20 is pressed against the inner surface of conical extension 21. Therefore the lower end of the jack rests under a certain tension in opening 12.
The problem of manufacturing the opening 12 with concreted-in anchor plate 14 is also solved in a special manner according in the invention. As the formwork member for forming opening 12 is provided a core member 24 of elastic material, particularly plastic which before concreting is placed in a formwork 25. Core member 24 is detachably anchored on a base portion 27 of the formwork with a centrally inserted tie bolt 26 or the like. Core member 24 is constructed in the same way as the anchor member 22, i.e. it is also provided with outer thread l8, onto which is screwed anchor plate l4 before assembling core member 24 in formworks 25. Core member 24 with the mounted anchor plate 14 is then inserted and concreted into formwork 25. After the concrete has set core member 24 is removed from the floor l3 of the garage. Anchor plate 14 is left behind at the desired point in the floor 13. In the lower area an appropriate internal thread is embedded in the concrete.
What is claimed is:
1. In an apparatus for raising and lowering a roomsized building unit, particularly a prefabricated garage made from reinforced concrete, with jacks anchored in openings in the floor of the unit, the improvement comprising:
a. a plurality of anchor plates embedded in the concrete floor and individually surrounding each opening. each anchor plate being substantially planar and having an edge projecting into its associated opening.
b. a plurality of anchor members individually secured to each jack, each anchor member having a coarse pitch thread configured to fit into and mate with each opening and to engage a projecting anchor plate by turning the jack.
2. An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the thread at the lower end of the anchor member is a few turns.
3. An apparatus according to claim 2, in which the thread is a trapezoidal thread.
4. An apparatus according to claim I, in which the anchor plate has a central hole, whereby the rim of the hole serves as a projection for the entry of the thread.
5. An apparatus according to claim 4, in which the rim of the hole of the anchor plate is provided with at least one radial slot and is shaped as a single turn screw thread by shaping the edge at both sides of the central plane of the anchoring plate.
6. An apparatus according to claim 5, in which the anchor member has a cylindrical guide above its threaded portion which fits into a correspondingly dimensinned cylindrical portion of the floor opening.
7. An apparatus according to claim I, in which the area of the opening directed towards the inside of the garage is provided with a funnel-shaped, conical extenston.
8. An apparatus according to claim 7, in which the anchor member has a widened conical portion which in the mounted stage engages the conical extension of the floor opening.
9. An apparatus according to claim 8, in which the conical portion is above the cylindrical guide.
10. An apparatus according to claim 9 wherein the dimensions of the widened portion of the anchor memher, the conical extension of the floor opening and the anchoring projections of the anchor plate are matched with the dimensions of the opening in such a way that with the jack in the mounted state, the widened portion engages under tension with the contact surfaces of the floor due to the axial movement resulting from the turning of the jack.
ll. An apparatus according to claim I wherein the anchoring member comprises a thread detachably mounted on the lower end of the jack; a cylindrical guide disposed above said course pitch thread and a conical portion above the cylindrical guide.
Claims (11)
1. In an apparatus for raising and lowering a roomsized building unit, particularly a prefabricated garage made from reinforced concrete, with jacks anchored in openings in the floor of the unit, the improvement comprising: a. a plurality of anchor plates embedded in the concrete floor and individually surrounding each opening, each anchor plate being substantially planar and having an edge projecting into its associated opening, b. a plurality of anchor members individually secured to each jack, each anchor member having a coarse pitch thread configured to fit into and mate with each opening and to engage a projecting anchor plate by turning the jack.
2. An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the thread at the lower end of the anchor member is a few turns.
3. An apparatus according to claim 2, in which the thread is a trapezoidal thread.
4. An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the anchor plate has a central hole, whereby the rim of the hole serves as a projection for the entry of the thread.
5. An apparatus according to claim 4, in which the rim of the hole of the anchor plate is provided with at least one radial slot and is shaped as a single turn screw thread by shaping the edge at both sides of the central plane of the anchoring plate.
6. An apparatus according to claim 5, in which the anchor member has a cylindrical guide above its threaded portion which fits into a correspondingly dimensinned cylindrical portion of the floor opening.
7. An apparatus according to claim 1, in which the area of the opening directed towards the inside of the garage is provided with a funnel-shaped, conical extension.
8. An apparatus according to claim 7, in which the anchor member has a widened conical portion which in the mounted stage engages the conical extension of the floor opening.
9. An apparatus according to claim 8, in which the conical portion is above the cylindrical guide.
10. An apparatus according to claim 9 wherein the dimensions of the widened portion of the anchor member, the conical extension of the floor opening and the anchoring projections of the anchor plate are matched with the dimensions of the opening in such a way that with the jack in the mounted state, the widened portion engages under tension with the contact surfaces of the floor due to the axial movement resulting from the turning of the jack.
11. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the anchoring member comprises a thread detachably mounted on the lower end of the jack, a cylindrical guide disposed above said course pitch thread and a conical portion above the cylindrical guide.
