Definitions

  • ABSTRACT This invention relates to a one-piece wrapping case comprising a rectangular dish-shaped base portion having a planar bottom and planar sides and ends perpendicular to the bottom, said ends being higher than said sides, cover means hinged to each of said sides along a bendable edge, said cover means comprising a planar cover wall, a rectangular cover top wall perpendicular to the planar cover wall and to two parallel cover side walls, the cover side walls each having the shape of a right-angled triangle, the hypotenuse of which corresponds to the length of the cover means edge, and the height of each cover side wall corresponding to half the width of the end walls of the base portion, and flange means projecting from the edges of the cover top walls and the cover side walls.
  • This invention relates to a portable wrapping case, particularly for wrapping a plurality of goods having planar bases.
  • Portable wrapping cases of plastic film which are composed of two dish-shaped moulded bodies hinged to one another along a bendable edge.
  • the bottles or stand-up bags are positioned with their bases on that wall of the case-shaped container which, over its entire length, has the bendable groove necessary for the easier opening and closing of the wrapping and is the base of the container.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a portable wrapping case in which it is possible to wrap goods with planar bases in the upright state therein in such a manner that they also retain their positions when the case standing on a planar support is opened.
  • wrapping case must be sufficiently inherently rigid.
  • a wrapping case in one piece, provided with a carrying device and composed of plastic film, the prismatic packing space of which is enclosed by a dish-shaped moulded body and two moulded cover parts being in connection with one another by means of a bendable edge.
  • the wrapping case is composed of a rectangular dish-shaped base portion with a planar bottom and sides as well as end walls perpendicular thereto, the two end walls and the two side walls in pairs having the same height, but the end walls being higher than the side walls.
  • the upper edges of the side walls are provided with covers composed of a planar cover wall extending in the geometric plane of the planar side wall of the base portion, a rectangular cover top wall perpendicular to the planar cover wall and extending parallel to the planar bottom of the base portion, as well as two parallel cover side walls, each extending in the geometric plane of a bottom end wall.
  • the covers each being hinged by a bendable edge to the side walls of the base portion and the height of each cover top wall corresponding to half of the width of the end wall of the base portion.
  • the cover side walls each have the shape of a right-angled triangle the hypotenuse of which corresponds to the length of the corresponding cover wall edge and the height of which corresponds to half of the width of the end wall of the base portion.
  • the covers each have flanges outwardly projecting from the edge of their top wall and side walls, and the upper edge of the end walls of the base portion and the edges of the cover side walls have reinforcing beads.
  • the underside of the bottom of the base portion is the base of the case.
  • planar bottom means that the that bottom extends in one plane only even when case is opened.
  • the moulded body from which the wrapping case of the invention can be formed by bending around the two bendable edges as the bending lines is preferably manufactured the deep-drawing a thermoplastic synthetic film, particularly a transparent polyvinyl chloride film.
  • the flanges at the top walls of the covers preferably each have a perforation. These perforations preferably are congruent with one another so that they form a passage.
  • the two covers are bent towards one another until the top walls of the covers are flush with one another.
  • the two covers have the same shape and the same dimensions.
  • the wrapping case of the invention has a triangular passage at its ends.
  • FIG. 1 is a semi-perspective view of a wrapping case of the invention in the partially opened state
  • FIG. 2 is a side elevation of the wrapping case
  • FIG. 3 is a view of the wrapping case from the front end
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of another variation of the portable wrapping case in the partially opened state.
  • numeral 1 designates the rectangular dishshaped base portion with its side wall 2 and its end wall 3; numeral 4 designates the upper edge of the end wall 3; numeral 5 designates a cover with the planar cover wall 6, the top wall 7 and the side wall 8. In the zone of the longitudinal groove 9, the cover 5 is hinged to the upper edge of the side wall 2 of the base portion 1.
  • the groove 9 is also a bendable edge.
  • Numeral l0 designates the outwardly projecting flange at the edge of the cover top wall 7 and the side wall 8; it is so dimensioned that it may serve as a handle.
  • Each of the two flanges 10 has a passage 11 therein.
  • Numeral l2 designates a perpendicular bead at the edge of the side wall 8 of the cover, numeral 13 a perpendicular bead at the upper edge of the end wall 3 of the base portion.
  • the edge B of the cover side wall is the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle
  • the edge H0 is the height of the right-angled triangle
  • the edge Kathe other side is the edge B of the cover side wall
  • edge Ka of the cover part is in alignment with the edge formed by the side wall and the end wall of the base portion.
  • the wall 6 of the cover abuts on the side wall of the cover with the formation of a right angle.
  • numerals l, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, l0, and 11 have the same meanings as in FIG. 1.
  • Numeral l4 designates a bottle wrapped in the wrapping case of the invention.
  • the planar base of the bottle, as is shown, takes the entire width of the bottom of the base portion.
  • numerals l, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, I2, 13, and 14 have the same meanings as in FIG. 1 or FIG. 2, respectively.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of another embodiment of the invention.
  • the cover walls 6 are reinforced by U- shaped beads 21. Additional beads 22 are provided at the vertical edges B of the cover side walls by means of which it is possible to stack several portable cases one upon the other. Corresponding, but horizontal. stacking beads advantageously may be provided on the end wall 3 of the base portion-The passages II are reinforced in their marginal zones by circumferential beads 23. The rectangular bottom is reinforced by a circumferential bead.
  • Hinge beads are provided along the line 9 and also along the lines 24.
  • the projections 25 and 26 are press-button coupling elements by means of which the portable case can be closed and re-closed.
  • a one-piece wrapping case comprising a rectangular dish-shaped base portion having a planar bottom and planar sides and ends perpendicular to the bottom, said ends being higher than said sides,
  • cover means hinged to each of said sides along a bendable edge, said cover means comprising a planar cover wall, a rectangular cover top wall perpendicular to the planar cover wall and to two parallel cover side walls,
