  • PATENTED 1 74
  • Different types of rolled and folded lottery-tickets have been proposed in order to satisfy this requirement.
  • the present invention provides a new solution to the problem of maintaining the number secrecy in lotteries of the type referred to above until the lottery-ticket has been sold, which differs from the principles hitherto adopted by the fact that the tickets are sealed not individually but collectively, whereby the seal may be provided in a simpler but nevertheless more reliable manner than that adopted for rolled and folded tickets. At the same time it is easier to distribute the tickets and to check the sale thereof.
  • a lottery apparatus comprising numbered tickets which are provided as a roll of a continuous strip on which the successive tickets are numbered in a non-regular sequence andfrom which the tickets can be separated in dividually, characterized in that the strip having the numbers visibly printed on the individual tickets thereof for the protection of the number secrecy is enclosed in a container which forms an opening for the withdrawal of the tickets and which prevents the ticket number of each ticket to be read until the ticket is substantially completely withdrawn from the container, and further characterized in that means are provided to prevent a partially withdrawn ticket from being returned to the container.
  • the lottery apparatus is further characterized in that a knob is provided on the container for the withdrawal of the tickets, and that the container is replaceably mounted having the knob releasably connected with a turning member which may be connected with a manual operating mechanism by driving means which is to be activated by one or more coins supplied to the prepayment mechanism.
