  • Another object of the present invention is to provide an accessorial device for holding a helmet or the like on an autobicycle having a cover member to cover at least one bolthead of bolts affixing a handle setter to the frame of the autobicycle to hold a handle therebetween so that the bolt covered with the cover member would not be screwed out from the frame, whereby a helmet or the like held by the cover member is certainly connected to the frame.
  • Further object of the present invention is to provide an accessorial device for holding a helmet or the like on an autobicycle which should be easily mountedon a conventional autobicycle only by substituting the handle setter thereof for the conventional one.
  • object of the present invention is to providean accessorial device for holding a helmet or the like on an autobicycle which enables to put a helmet over the fuel tank behind the handle of the autobicycle not to stay rain water inside the helmet in rainy weather.

  • a handle 4 is tightly held between the handle holder 2 and a handle setter 3 positioned upon the handle holder 2 with use of several bolts 5, 6.
  • a hook-shaped cover 8 is pivotally connected to the upper surface of the handle setter 3 turnably around a pivot 9 at the root portion thereof.
  • the cover 8 has a concave 10 to cover the bolthead 7 of the rear bolt 6 while the cover 8 is laid flat upon the handle setter 3, and has a transverse concave to form a holding hole 14 in association with the upper surface of the handle set-.
  • the cover 8 has also a transversely settled horizontal pin 15 inside the downwardly opened concave at the free-end portion thereof.
  • a locking mechanism 17 which is comprised of a .hook member 19 turnable around a pivot 20 supported on the inner side wall of the handle setter 3, of which hook portion at the uppermost portion thereof is to engage with the pin 15, a spring 24 biasedly enforcing the hook member 19 to hold engagement with the pin 15, and a cam 23 affixed to the axle 22 of a cylinder-type lock which is to be operated with a key 21 (FIG. 1) to push the root portion of the hook member 19 against force of the spring 24 with aid of the cam 23.
  • the cover 8 isv upwardly enforced by a spring 25 so that the cover 8 automatically turns upwards around the pivot 9 when the hook member 19 is disengaged from the pin 15.
  • a rider should turn the axle 22 by using the key 21, whereupon the cam 23 acts on the hook member 19 to disengage it from the pin 15, and the cover 8 is turned upwards around thepivot 9. Then he should position the ring member 13 of the helmet ll of the like in the holding hole 14 and thereafter push the cover 8 downwards. Consequently the hook member 19 engages again with the pin 15 with operation of the spring 24, and the cover 8 is locked against the handle setter 3 holding the helmet ll.
  • An accessory for safe-keeping an article on a motorcycle comprising handle holding means on said motorcycle; handle setting means attached to said handle holding means for holding tightly therebetween the center portion of a handle; a plurality of bolts for fastening said handle setting means to said handle holding means; a hook-shaped cover member connected pivotally at its base to said handle setting means so as to cover at least one bolthead of said bolts, said cover member having a recess for forming a cavity with said handle setting means to hold said article; and locking means connecting said cover member to said handle setting means for securely locking said article between said cover member and said handle setting means.
