Abstract
The invention relates to a display holder for holding elongated objects, for example substantially cylindrical screw anchoring devices, drills, etc., and to a sales unit comprising such display holder in which objects of the said type are mounted. The display holder comprises a sheet or plate member, such as a cardboard member which may carry advertising and/or informative printed matter, and a holder member having an abutment part engaging one side of said sheet or plate member and one or more transverse parts extending through slots or openings in the plate member and being adapted to retain elongated objects adjacent to the other side of the plate member. The holding member is preferably formed as a channel member with spaced parts extending through said slots or openings in the plate member. Furthermore, these flange parts may be provided with holes or pairs of projections defining recesses between them for resiliently receiving and retaining said elongated objects adjacent to said second side of the plate member. When retained by the holding member these objects prevent the holding member from being separated from the plate member.

Furthermore, these flange parts may be provided with holes orpairs of projections de fining recesses between them for resiliently receiving and retaining said elongated objects adjacent to said second side of the plate member. When retained by the holding member these objects prevent the holding member from being separated from the plate member.
6 Claims, 2 Drawing Figures DISPLAY HOLDER OR SALES UNIT BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a display holder or packaging for elongated objects arranged or retained on or adjacent'to the surface part of a sheet or plate member which may for example carry illustrating or informative printed matter. The invention also relates to a sales unit comprising a holder of the said type and one or more elongated objects arranged or mounted therein. 1
2. Description of the Prior Art Numerous packagings and display holders of that general type are known. Most of them, however, are made by folding a specially shaped or contoured blank of cardboard or a similar bendable sheet material. However, the prior art also comprises sales units consisting of a cardboard plate and one or more objects arranged on one side thereof and retained thereon by means of a film or layer of a transparent plastics material wrapped and/or crimped around said objects and bound to the cardboard member.
Some of these known display holders and sales units are rather complicated to produce, and others suffer from the drawback that it is difficult for the purchaser of a sales unit to remove or separate the purchased objects from the holder or unit. Furthermore, it may be difficult or impossible for the purchaser or user to reinsert a removed object in the holder or sales unit.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the invention a display holder for one or more elongated objects has been provided, said holder comprising a sheet or plate member having wall parts defining one or more slots or openings therein, and separate holding means having an abutment surface for engaging a first side of said sheet or plate member and object retaining means extending transversely to said abutment surface and through said slots or openings, said retaining means being adapted to receive and retain said objects in a position adjacent to the second side of the plate or sheet member opposite to said first side thereof.
The said holding means may comprise a channel member having spaced flange parts extending through said slots or openings, and the elongated objects may for example be retained in holes or bores in said flange parts. Alternatively, each flange part may comprise one or more pairs of spaced projections, each pair of projections being adapted to receive and resiliently hold an elongated object between them. In the latter case, an object may be retained by each pair of projections which function as a clip or clamp. It is to be understood that although the elements of the display holder according to the invention, viz, the sheet or plate member and the holding means or channel member, are preferably separate elements they are locked together when one or more elongated objects have been inserted in the retaining means or flange parts extending through the slots or openings in the plate mmeber. If desired, the abutment surface or web part of the channel member may be bound to the adjacent surface parts of the sheet or plate member, for example by gluing.
The sheet or plate member is preferably of a type carrying printed matter such as instructions of use, trademarks, etc. The plate member may consist of a single layer of cardboard or paper or any other material. A]- ternatively, it may form part of a folder or a pamphlet.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The sales unit shown in FIG. 1 comprises a sheet or plate 10 which is preferably made from pasteboard or cardboard and which may be provided with printed matter (not shown) such as illustrations, advertising,
instructions of use, trademarks, etc. The plate 10 is provided with two slits or slots 11, and the flange parts of a channel member 12 preferably made of plastics,
metal, or another resilient material .are extending through the slots 11 whereas the web part of the channel member 12 engages the back of the plate 10. The flange parts of the channel member 12 is provided with partly circular recesses 13 and intermediate slots 14. Elongated sales objects which may for example be screw anchoring devices or expansion bolts 15 as shown in FIG. 1 may be pressed into and received in the recesses 13 whereby projections or fingers 16 defined between the recesses 13 and the slots 14 are pressed towards each other, whereby a flat key-shaped measuring member or gauge having been placed in the slot 14 beforehand may be safely retained therein. The key-shaped member 17 may for example be used for determining the thickness of the plate or panel in which the anchoring members or expansion bolts 15 are to be mounted whereby it may be checked whether the expansion bolts are of a type suitable for use in connection with the plate or panel thickness in question. It will be appreciated that the part of the plate or sheet 10 between the slots 11 is being sandwiched between the web part of the channel member 12 and the sales objects or screw anchoring devices 15. Therefore, it is unnecessary to bind the channel-shaped member 12 to the plate 10 by gluing or in any other manner.
Whereas the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is provided with recesses 13 for receiving only two expansion bolts or screw anchoring devices 15 the embodiment shown in FIG. 2 is provided with five such recesses in each flange part. It should be understood that the sales unit or display holder according to the invention may be provided with any number of recesses 13 and projections or fingers l6, and these projections and recesses may, of course, be shaped in several other manners than shown in the drawing. Furthermore, it should be understood that the sales unit or display holder accord ing to the invention may be used for receiving and retaining elongated objects of any type, such as rodshaped members having a circular, rectangular orany other cross-section.
When the sales unit or display holder is adapted to receive and retain screw anchoring devices or expansion bolts as shown on the drawing the web part of the channel member 12 may contain circular holes or bores 18 (FIG. 2) sewing as gauges for facilitating selection of the correct diameter of a drill to be used for boring the holes or bores in which the expansion bolts are to be mounted.
It should be understood that even though the present invention has mainly been described in relation to sales units the principles of the invention may also be used in connection with display holders from which the elongated objects are successively removed when they are being sold. It will also be appreciated that various amendments and modifications of the embodiments shown on the drawing may be made without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims. As an example the plate or sheet may have any other outline than that shown, and each flange part 12 may be shaped in such a manner that each elongated object 15 need only be received in one recess 13 and not in two aligned recesses as shown in FIG. 1.
I claim:
1. In combination: at least two elongated screw anchors each receivable in use in a bore; a gauge for gauging the transverse width and the depth of the bore in which each screw anchor is received comprising an elongated flat member; and means for holding said screw anchors side-by-side and spaced from each other and for holding said gauge therebetween comprising at least two pair of substantially aligned spaced apart projections each pair having portions extending towards one another and defining a recess receiving therein one screw anchor and means defining a slot between each pair of adjacent projections receiving and holding said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors and said gauge comprises a first member extending through said slit at said other side of said plate and having said two pair of spaced apart projections connected thereto.

A combination according to claim 3, wherein said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors and said gauge further comprises a second member extending through a second slit in said plate and having at least two pair of spaced apart projections and means defining a second slot therebetween opposite the firstmentioned two pair of spaced apart projections and said first-mentioned slot respectively and aligned therewith and a connecting member fixed to both said first and second members and abutting with said one side of said plate when said first and second members are received in said slits.
5. A combination according to claim 2, wherein said plate comprises cardboard.
6. A combination according to claim 2, wherein said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors comprises plastic.
Claims (6)
1. In combination: at least two elongated screw anchors each receivable in use in a bore; a gauge for gauging the transverse width and the depth of the bore in which each screw anchor is received comprising an elongated flat member; and means for holding said screw anchors side-by-side and spaced from each other and for holding said gauge therebetween comprising at least two pair of substantially aligned spaced apart projections each pair having portions extending towards one another and defining a recess receiving therein one screw anchor and means defining a slot between each pair of adjacent projections receiving and holding said gauge therein.
2. A combination according to claim 1, wherein said means for holding comprises a plate having means therein defining at least one slit and means including said two pair of spaced apart projections and said slot inserted in said slit on one side of said plate and extending from said plate for resiliently holding said screw anchors and said gauge on the other side of said plate.
3. A combination according to claim 2, wherein said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors and said gauge comprises a first member extending through said slit at said other side of said plate and having said two pair of spaced apart projections connected thereto.
4. A combination according to claim 3, wherein said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors and said gauge further comprises a second member extending through a second slit in said plate and having at least two pair of spaced apart projections and means defining a second slot therebetween opposite the first-mentioned two pair of spaced apart projections and said first-mentioned slot respectively and aligned therewith and a connecting member fixed to both said first and second members and abutting with said one side of said plate when said first and second members are received in said slits.
5. A combination according to claim 2, wherein said plate comprises cardboard.
6. A combination according to claim 2, wherein said means for resiliently holding said screw anchors comprises plastic.
