1 Claim, 3 Drawing Figures CLOCK REPAIR JIG BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a clock repair jig and more particularly to a clock repair jig for positioning the cuckoo clock in its upright working position.
According to the invention, a clock jig is provided having one block with a square cornered extension in the center portion thereof mating with two other blocks, substantially symetrical, coming together to form a recess for receiving the extension on the first block. A plurality of mating apertures between the first block and the other two blocks provide for clamping with conventional bolts and wing nuts. The spacing between the first block and the lower of the other two blocks can accommodate a clamping to a drawer or any vertical plate whereas the spacing between the first block and the top of the other two blocks can be varied for accommodating a mounting or vertically extending mounting panel of the cuckoo clock. Hence, a cuckoo clock can be positioned on any suitably dimensioned vertical plate for adjustment and repair in its upright working position.
An object of the present invention is the provision of an improved clock repair jig.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a clock repair jig for repairing cuckoo clocks in their working position.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a clock repair jig which is inexpensive to manufacture and extremely convenient in use.
Other objects and many of the attendant advantages will be readily appreciated as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view partially exploded of the preferred embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the embodiment of FIG. I in situ;
FIG. 3 is a sectional view taken along lines 33 of FIG. 1.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING Referring to FIG. 1, the clock repairjig of the present invention is shown generally at 11 having a first member jig member 12, a second member jig member 13 and a third jig member 14. Jig member 12 has a square extension 16 received by recesses 17 and 18 of jig members 13 and 14, respectively. Bolts 19 and 21 in jig member 12 pass through apertures (not shown) in jig member 13 and 14 and cooperate with wing nuts 24 and 26. Bolts 22 and 23 cooperate with other wing nuts not shown.
Referring to FIG. 2, the clock repair jig 11 has jig member, 12 and jig member 13 clamped on drawer side 27 via bolts 21 and 23. Cuckoo clock 28 is clamped via mounting panel 29 between jig member 12 and jig member 14 via bolts 19 and 22.
Referring to FIG. 3, the clock repair jig II has jig member I2, 13 and 14'. Jig member 12 has an extension 16 received by recess 17 of jig member 13 and recess 18 ofjig member 14. Bolts 19 pass throughjig members I2 and 14 for cooperation with wing nut 24 and washer 25. Bolt 22 passes through jig member 12 and I3 and cooperates with bolt 26 and washer 30.
Referring back to all of the FIGS. and particularly FIG. 2 it can be seen that in setting up, jig members 12 and 13 are clamped on drawer side 27. The jig member 14 is positioned in place and adjusted for receiving vertical mounting panel 29 which is attached to cuckoo clock 28. In this vertically held position cuckoo clock 28 is in its operating upright working position with its mechanism exposed for adjustment and repair.
It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing disclosure relates to only a preferred embodiment of the invention and that it is intended to cover all changes and modification of the example of the invention herein chosen for the purposes of the disclosure which do not constitute departures from the spirit and scope of the invention.
I claim:
1. A clock repair jig comprising:
a first jig block having a central extension thereon;
a second jig block having a recess dimensioned for receiving a portion of said central extension;
a third jig block having a recess cooperating with said second jig block to form an extended recess for receiving said first jig block extension;
21 first set of apertures in said first and second blocks with clamping bolts therein for clamping said first and second blocks together, said apertures disposed in said extension and recess areas;
a second set of apertures in said first and third blocks with clamping bolts therein for clamping said first and third blocks together, said second set of apertures disposed in said extension and recess areas;
said first jig block having first and second body portions extending in opposite directions from said central extension, and said second and third jig blocks having respective body portions extending in opposite directions from said extended recess, said first body portion of said first jig block and said body portion of said second jig block being vertically aligned and downwardly directed for receiving a vertical plate to be clamped therebetween, and said second body portion of said first jig block and said body portion of said third jig block being vertically aligned and upwardly directed for receiving a vertical mounting plate of a cuckoo clock to be clamped therebetween.

Claims (1)
