  • said means defining said suction bore comprising a displaceable suction conduit, an approximately cylindrical compartment, said suction bore opening approximately coaxially into said cylindrical compartment, said cylindrical compartment possessing a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the suction bore, a compressed airchannel opening approximately tangentially into said cylindrical compartment, a sleeve member containing said compressed air channel, said suction conduit being displaceable between two positions within said sleeve member, and wherein in one of said positions the suction conduit closes the compressed air channel.
  • An apparatus for withdrawing rapidly moving yarn material comprising means defining a suction bore, an approximately cylindrical compartment, said suction bore opening approximately coaxially into said cylin drical compartment, said cylindrical compartment possessing a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the suction bore, a compressed air channel opening approximately tangentially into said cylindrical, compartment, means for shutting-off the compressed air chan nel, said means defining said suction bore comprises a suction conduit, a sleeve member containing said compressed air channel, said suction conduit being displaceable in said sleeve member, a suction installation and a compressed air source, a housing having means for connecting the cylindrical compartment with the suction installation and the compressed air channel with the compressed air source, and wherein the suction conduit and said sleeve member form an insert which can be selectively inserted into one of two positions in the housing.
