In such circumstances. as shown in FIG. 3, date advancing tooth 3 is pushed downwards along slope 4 by the rected quickly. If the user applies astrong force to the mechanism without knowing these facts, the calendar advancing device, the calendar correcting device, the calendar gear train, and the minute wheel gear train may bebroken. Therefore, in order to prevent this, it is necessary to use an intricate mechanism associated with the finger for calendar advancing.

- a break prevention device for a calendar watch comprising a rotatable calendar wheel'having a plurality of teeth; and a calendar advancing wheel having at least one elongated advancing tooth positioned for cooperative engagement with said calendar wheel teeth for the incremental advancing of said calendar wheel in response to the rotation of said calendar advancing wheel in a first direction, said advancing tooth being formed with a sloped region adjacent its end and being resiliently displaceable out of the plane of said calendar wheel teeth, whereby said advancing tooth drives said calendar wheel when rotated in a first direction, while permitting said calendar wheel to rotate in a second direction opposed to said first direction.
