A. G. LOTTMAN.
MOSQUITO NET FRAME.
Patented-July 26, 1887.
IN VENTOR BY M g f 6: ATTOR YS.
WITNESSES :v
UNITED STATES ALBERT O. LOTTM AN,
PATENT OFFICE.
OF HOUSTON, TEXAS.
MOSQUITO-NET FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 367,151, dated July 26-, 1887.
A pplication filed February 13, 1887. Serial No. 228,556. (No model.)
.T 0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT O. LOTTMAN, of Houston, in the county of Harris and State of Texas, have invented a new and Improved Mosquito-Net Frame, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
- My invention relates to a mosquito net frame, and has for its object to provideaframe which I may be frequently taken apart and joined again without the slightest damage to the connections, and whereinthe said frame will be effective, durable, and ornamental.
The invention consists in the construction and combination of the several parts, as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and pointed out inthe claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
Figure 1 isa perspective view of my frame attached to a bed; Fig. 2, an enlarged detail perspective view'thereof, and Fig. 3 an enlarged horizontal section through the standard-head.
In carrying the invention into effect two standards, A A, are employed, having attached to their upper ends arounded head, B'. The said standards are united by a horizontal bar, a, having reduced ends adapted to enter aligning apertures 12 in opposing sides of the standard-heads B, a rigid attachment of the bar a to said heads being effected by the passage of detachable pins 0 through the heads, and also through the reduced ends of the bar a, an aperture, 0, being made in the heads and a registeringaperture through the reduced ends of the rod to accommodate the said pins.
Duplicate apertures 12 and c are made in the front side of the standard'heads B, and horizontal side bars, D, are held in said apertures at one end by the detachable pins 0 in" similar manner to the attachment of the rear horizontal bar, a.
The upper portion of the frame is completed by the attachment to the outer ends of the side bars, D, of detachable ornamental heads E, which are preferably of the same size and design as the aforesaid standard-heads B,
the frame is rectangular in form, consisting of 1.
front, side, and rear bars adj ustabl y united by a series of detachable pins to ornamental heads located at each corner.
The upper extended portion of the frame is supported by brackets F, detachably attached to the standards A A and to the under side of the horizontal side bars, D, the attachment being made by the lower inner edge of said brackets engaging an upwardly-inclined pin, f, secured in the standards, and the entrance of a pin, f, secured to the top of said bracket in the under, side of said side bars, and inclined upwardly in .an opposite direction to that of the pin f to enter a similarly inclined hole. v
The canopy-frameis secured to the bed by a downwardly-inclined pin, H, secured about the center of the standards, adapted to be entered in a diagonal aperture at the top or rear side near the ends of the bedstead, the frame being further stayed by the angular bar h, pivoted in the lower ends of the standards, adapted to be passed under the edge of the head-board or bed-frame at the back.
'It will be observed that the frame may be readily detached and folded in a small compass, and that when in position a rigid ornamental structure is obtained.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a mosquito-net frame, the combination, with the standards A A, provided with detachable heads B,'of the rear horizontal bar, a, horizontal side bars, D, front horizontal bar, D, and a detachable bracket, F, and upwardly-inclined pins f f,secured, respectively, to the standard and to the bracket in similarly-inclined holes, substantially as shown and described.
2. 111 a mosquito-net frame, the combinalar bar, h, pivoted to the lower ends of the tien, with the standards A A, provided with standards to be passed under the edge of the detachable heads B, horizontal bars a, 1), and head-board, substantially as described.
D, a detachable bracket, F, and downwardly- Y ALBERT (J. LOTTMAN. 5 inclined pins H, secured to the standards A Vitnesses:
A, adapted to enter a diagonal aperture at T1105. CONGROVE,
the upper ends of the bedstead, and an angu- TM. SPENCE.
