Be it known that we, Janos FRIEDRICH Monz and FRANK R. Wants, citizens of the United States of America, residing at Springfield, in the county of Clark and State of 'Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in 'Gas and Gasoline Watel? Heaters and Grates, of which the followingis a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to an iniprovernentin gas or gasoline grates and water-heaters combined; and it consists in the construction of the grate, includingthe water-heating attachment, substantially as hereinafter fully set forth and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of our invention; and Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation of the same on the linexr, Fig. 1.

1n the said drawings, A. refers to an annular reservoir or receptacle having a series of radial arms or bars, a, extending from its periphery, and which serve to support the an nnlar receptacle or reservoir upon a gas or I-entrally of this reservoir, and connected to it by communicating hollow radial chambers B, is a ring, 0, which serves to distribute the flame upon the various receptacles to fully utilize the flame and heat. The radial chambers B are extended beyond the periphery of the annular chamber or rcceptacle A, to also form supports for the same, the whole contrivance thus constructed f0rn1- ing a combined grate and receptacle or vessel, the latter for heating water, which, it is obvious, promotes convenience, and facilitates the preparation of a meal as practiced in summer cooking.

Upon the upper surface of the annular chamber, intermediately of the radial chambers, are cast or formed bosses or upward projections e, upon which is designed to be supported, as well as upon the upper surfaces of the radial chambers, any other cooking or culinary utensil during the heating of the wa ter or otherwise.

A suitable nozzle, 1), is applied at one side of the reservoir A, through which the reservoir and its connectingohamberslnay be tilled with water, while the water after heating is drawn off through one or more nozzles, d, at other points of the reservoir.

Having'thus fully described our invention, what we claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is I 1. In a combined grate and water-heater, the annular receptacle having the communieating radial chambers, said chambers being connected to a central ring and extended beyond the periphery of the said receptacle, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

2. The combined grate and water-heater, comprising the annular chamber or reservoir, the central ring, the radial chambers between aforesaid chamber and ring, arms projecting beyond the annular chamber, and inlet and outlet nozzles, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
