- the latter is supported at a fixed point and is guided by suitable directional elements along tracks which are concentric with the wheel.
- the free ends of the meshing pin teeth form the tracks.
- the pinion housing may be a cradle or sliding carriage.
- Such a construction wherein friction occurs between the housing and the ends of the pin teeth can be chosen when the guidance of the pinion housing is in effect only intermittently, i.e., when the position of the pinion axis relative to the axis of the ring gear has been fixed by other means.
- the ends of the pin teeth carry rollers which form roller trains
- the directing elements are guides which are fastened to the pinion housing in an articulated manner.
- the number and disposition of the guides depends upon the general provisions; they may engage the roller train on the side facing away from the pinion or else may be provided on both sides of the roller train.
- Good direction of the pinion housing can be effected when per roller train, i.e., on both sides of the ring gear, on the track facing away from the pinion, two guides are provided and one guide is disposed on the track facing the pinion.

- the free ends of the pin teeth 6 carry rollers 7 that form a guideway, such as two roller trains, namely one train facing away from, and one facing, the pinion 1.

- Pinion 1 is actuated by shaft 10 by way of a reduction gearing composed of gears 8 and 9.
- the roller train on the side facing away from pinion 1 is assigned two guides 3 and that facing pinion 1 one guide 3a.
- the latter is disposed swingably about bolt 4a. This provides an exactly defined engagement of pinion 1 in the meshing teeth or leaves.
- a device for the actuation of a mangle wheel having pin teeth which comprises a pinion engaging the teeth of said mangle wheel; a housing for said pinion in which said pinion is journall'ed; said housing being pivotably supported at a fixed point; guide elements mounted with relation to said housing; and extensions formed on said pin teeth and constituting a guideway, said guide elements engaging said guideway for positioning said housing rela-. tive to said pin teeth.
