SPECIFICATIOII forming part of Letters Patent No. 343,136, dated June 1,1886.
A Application filed March 29, 1886. Serial No. 197,050. (No model.) v
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FRED DALSON MOORE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jamestown, in the county of Ohatauqua and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Files; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters cor figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of this invention, and is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a side view. Fig. 3 is an edge view.
My invention relates to files. for filing all sizes of auger-bits; and it consists in the construction and novel combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, and pointed out in, the claim.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the stem or body of the file, which is cylindrical in cross-section,
and is provided at each end with a taper file, as shown at B and O. The taper file B is provided with two safe sides, while the taper file O is provided with two safe edges.
A file of this construction, when properly manipulated, can be used to sharpen augerbits without interfering with the gimlet-points of the same.
Having described this invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
As an improved article of manufacture, a file-stem having at one end an integral taper file with two safe edges and at the other end an integral taper file having two safe faces, substantially as specified.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRED DALSON MOORE.
