Description

(No Model.) A. ZUMPE.
MEMORANDUM CALENDAR AND STAND.
No. 337,470. Patented Mar. 9,1886.
WITNESSES UNTTE STATES ADOLPH ZUMPE, OF BERLIN, GERMANY.
MEMORANDUM CALE NDAR AND STAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 337,470, dated March 9, 1886.
Application filed May 21, 1895. Serial No. 166,228. (No model.) Patented in Germany January 9, 1884, No. 27,502.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ADOLPH ZUMPE, a resident of the city of Berlin, German Empire, anda subject of the King of Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Memorandum Calendars and Stands, (patented in Germany, dated J anuary 9, 1884, No. 27,502,) of which the fo1- lowing is a specification.
This invention has reference to an improved memorandum calendar and stand in which the leaves that form the calendar are not torn off and thrown away, but folded over and preserved, so as to be available for reference at any time; and the invention consists of a stand having a transverse supporting-piece and a central flange or rib at right angles to the stand andtransverse piece, and a spring-clasp applied to the transverse piece and adapted to hold a memorandum-calendar in position on the stand.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a front elevation, Fig. 2 a side elevation, and Figs. 3 and 4 plans, of my improved memorandum calendar and stand, and Figs. 5 and 6 are side views of my modified forms of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts. v
Referring to the drawings, A represents the supporting-stand for the calendar, which is provided with a forward-extending supporting-piece, b, and with a flange or rib, a, that extends at right angles therefrom.
The pieces a and b are made of sheet metal and secured or attached in any suitable manner to the stand or support A.
The memorandum-calendar B is made up of a number of sheet-s that are united by a flexible back, by which the same can be pressed down on the flange or rib a, so as to ride on the same, whereby the sections of the calendar are disposed at both sides of the flange a, and rest on the supportingpiece b.
' The memorandum-calendar B is retained by a spring-piece, c, and prevented from dropping from the stand, the spring serving also to hold the leaves in open position.
For changing the dates of the memorandumcalendar, the spring is lifted and the leaves flexible, the calendar can ride on the flange a up to either cover, as illustrated in Fig. 4, while memoranda can be conveniently made up to the last leaf without any difficulty, owing to the rigid cover.
. Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of a supporting-stand, having a transverse supporting-piece and aflange or rib extending at right angles to said stand and transverse piece, and a spring-clasp applied to the transverse piece and adapted to retain a memorandum-calendar on said rib, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ADOLPH ZUMPE.
