S. G. MORRISON, OF IVILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN WINDOW-SASH SUPPORTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 33,596, dated October 29, 186i.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, S. G. MORRISON, of IVilliamsport, in the county of Lycoming and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Stopping, Staying, and Supporting` Window-Sash at any point or position desired; and I do hereby declare that the following` is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letter' of reference marked thereon.v 1
The nature of my invention consists in an elastic eccentric attached to the sash-stile, the periphery of which presses against the Window-casing, supporting the sash by leverage, either operated by springs or adjusted by the hand.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
I construct my eccentric A of metal or Wood in any desired or ornamental form, attaching to the eXtreme of the periphery Vf rom the center or pivot a body or strip ot' gum-elastic B of suiicient extent to cover the Whole of that partof the periphery of the eccentric intended to come in contact with the casing or side ot the window, affording support without injury.
I do not claim the eccentric, for I am aware that such device has been and is used for said purpose; but
IVhat I do claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The application of a body of gum-elastic B, or any other elastic material, to the extreme point of the eccentric, or any other substantially the same and which will produce the intended effect.
