Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the equipment for carding and cleaning cotton fibers, and more particularly concerns cotton cards used in the textile industry.
  • the dust eliminator comprises a cylindrical condenser connected by means of air duets with the fan, the said condenser having nozzles in the working zones of the dofling comb and delivery rollers (see, for instance, Patent No. 105,012, class 76c II, issued in the U.S.S.R.).
  • This card presents the disadvantage that the cylindrical condenser used for eliminating the dust from the card is of a big size, and is disposed under the card in the working zone of the doifer which renders servicing and repairs diflicult. Moreover, the design is complicated and does not ensure reliable and stable operation of the condenser.
  • An object of the present invention is a card with a fluff and dust eliminator of compact design easy for installation and convenient for maintenance.
  • the fluif and dust eliminator in the present card comprises a condenser connected by air duets with a fan, the nozzles of the said condenser being arranged in the Working zones of the doffing comb and delivery rollers.
  • the condenser is made as a rectangular chamber divided in two sections by a rotating perforated disk partially disposed in this chamber.
  • One section of the chamber forms air ducts connected with nozzles arranged in the zones of the dofling comb and delivery rollers, while the other section of the chamber is made in the shape of a disk connected with the fan; the nozzle in the zone of the dofling comb is provided with multiple slots.
  • the multiple slots in the nozzle must be made progressively larger, i.e. the greater the distance from the point of exhaustion the larger are the slots.
  • FIG. 1 is the layout of the dust and fluff eliminator on the card according to the invention.
  • FIG. 2 represents the dust and fluff eliminator for a card in accordance with the invention
  • FIG. 3 is section of FIG. 2 along IIIlII;
  • FIG. 4 is a drive of perforated disk according to the invention.
  • the dust eliminator 9 is installed on the card constituted of a feeding unit 1 (FIG. 1), a taker-in 2, a main cylinder 3, a shell recovering the flats 4, a dofler comb 5, a delivery roller 6, and a coiler 7 for coiling the sliver in the can 8.
  • the dust eliminator 9 consists of the condenser 10 (FIG. 2) connected by means of a pressure air duct 11 and suction air ducts 12 with the fan 13.
  • the condenser is made as a rectangular chamber divided in two sections A and B (FIG. 3) by means of the rotating perforated disk 15 partially disposed in the chamber.
  • the section B of chamber 14 forms air ducts 16 and 17 (FIG. 2) connected with the nozzles 18 and 19 and the section A (FIG. 3) of chamber 14 is made in the shape of a disk 15 and is connected with the fan 13.
  • the nozzle 18 is arranged in the working zone of the doifer comb 5, and the nozzle 19 in the working zone of delivery rollers 6.
  • the rotating disk 15 is provided with perforations and covered with a filtering net 20.
  • a spring-loaded roller 21 is arranged in the bottom part along the disk 15.
  • the spring 22 ensures the proper pressure of roller 21 to the perforated disk 15.
  • the pressure air duct 11 connected from the pressure side of the fan 13' and arranged under the roller 21 serves for eliminating fluff and dust removed from the perforated disk 15.
  • the air duct 11 instead of being connected to the roller 21 is provided with a slot for the passage of fluff and dust.
  • the fan 13 is actuated from the pulley 23 (FIG. 1) of the card drive, and the perforated disk 15 is rotated by the card drive (not shown in the drawing) through the ratchet 24 (FIG. 3), the pawl 25 and levers 26.
  • the nozzle 18 is provided with slots 27 (FIG. 3).
  • the width of the slots increases with their distance from the point of exhaustion.
  • Elimination of dust and fluff from the card is effected by means of the rotor of fan 13 which at its rotation creates a vacuum in the air duct 12 and the chamber A of the condenser.
  • the air passes into chamber A through the filtering surface of the perforated disk 15 from the chamber B which progressively becomes narrower and forms the air ducts 16 and 17 connected to the nozzles 18 and 19; the nozzle 18 is arranged in the working zone of the dofi'er comb 5, and the other nozzle 19 is provided in the zone of delivery rollers 6.
  • the dust laden air in these zones is sucked-in by nozzles 18 and 19 and enters the condenser chamber B, and passed by the action of the vacuum through the filtering surface of the perforated disk 15 covered with the net 20.
  • the dust and fluff are accumulated on the net forming a layer which promotes the cleaning of dust laden air.
  • the perforated disk 15 is slowly rotated by means of the ratchet 24, pawl 25 and levers 26, and brings the layer of accumulated dust and fluff to the spring-loaded roller 21; the later ejects this layer in the cut-out of the adjacent air duct 11 connected with the pressure side of fan 13.
  • the air passing through the air duct 11 transports fluff and dust into the waste collector.
  • the part of the perforated disk 15 cleaned of fluff and dust rotates and enters again into the condenser chamber.
  • the shell covering the flats aids the dust eliminator as it retains the dust and protects against dust discharge from the zone of flats into the ambient air of the premises.
  • the shell is periodically cleaned at general machine cleaning.
  • a dust and fluff eliminator comprising a rectangular chamber; a rotating perforated disk partly entering into the aforementioned chamber and dividing it into two sections; air ducts for dust and fluff transport provided with nozzles arranged in the working zones of the doffer comb and delivery rollers; one section of the aforesaid chamber communicating with said air ducts; a fan for creating a vacuum in said chamber and said air ducts; the second section of said chamber made in the shape of a disk and communicating with said fan; one of the nozzles having multiple slots.
  • a card according to claim 1 in which the perforated disk is covered with a net.
  • a card according to claim 1 in which a springloaded roller is arranged along the bottom of the disk for ensuring proper sealing of the chamber section connected with said air duct for eliminating the fluff and dust accumulated on the perforated disk.
  • a card according to claim 3 in which a pressure air duct from the fan is run to the spring-loaded roller for eliminating the fluff and dust removed by the roller from the perforated disk.
  • a card according to claim 1 in which said slots increase in width along said nozzle.
