Description
JLLLJU DUCT MANN,
Applltution tiled June 11.
of Ken York, have invented new and useful Improvcn it "n. Jewelers" Uahinctsoi'which the following is a specification.
My invention consists in a cabinet for pintongncs and the like for jewelers use, composed of a hlocl; having :1 series of concentric cells of Y3. 'ying depths arranged in tiers and extending vertically into the block, and also in such a cabinet consisting of a block having a series of concentric holes arranged in tiers, which extend conipletey through the block, and plugs of eorl; or similar material for closing the lower ends of the holes to form cells or" varying depths. A. suitable cover is fitted owl the top of the block, all of which is more fully pointed out in the following spe iii cation and claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings. in uhicli Figure i represents a .cal section of my improved case for pin-tongues and the like. fill elevation of the same with the inert-d. Fig. 3-
a plan view oi- 'lettersindicale corresponding psi-ls. dravi gs, the letter .51 designates a sleek, the bottom of which is lint, )er surface is modeled in tiers a Z) c, which decrease iron: the lower one upward sullicienlly in di meter to leave an annular snr'lcc tor the vertical holes, which form ce ls B ior the reception otthe articles, and which are cireuinfe :ntinl y arranged on the said tiers, and are also zutanged with vtt rying depths for different sizes of the pith tongues. In the example shown in the drawings, ail these holes is end completely through the block from top to hotloni, and are plugged at suiluble distances from the bottom of the block A, so to leave corresponding depths from the op of the clock for the re ccption of the pintongucs, and by the use or" the said plugs l) the various depths are fixed. Instead of drilling; the holes l n: the cells conigletcly through the tle farther than asily which block, nay extend a is i-cqui JAST ZTEN YOllli N. Y.

Serial X0. 168,377. (Yo modchl which they are intended to receive, and a. plug of cork or other similar material may be forced to the bottom of the same for the purpose of protecting the points of the pintongues or other articles which may be. placed into the holes. The edge of the block surrounding the bottom of the lowest tier is provided with a groove, (Z, for the reception oi the lower edge ol' a cover, E, 1, of glass or similar .niateriai, the latter fitting snugly into the groove in order to prevcntdust from entering the cabinet. The cells in each tier areranged from a minimum depth to a maximum depth, in order that each tier may contain complete set of pin-tong each cell being marked, as shown in Fig. 2, with a number indicating the size of the PllPtUllg'llQS. The central hole, l). as shown in the drawings, also filled with pin-tongues; but I usnc. ly prefer to make this cell of a slight depth, so as to adapt it for the reception oi small parts of the pintongucs, and i provide the same with a plug or stopper to prevent the accidental loss of these parts. lt' desired. the points of the pintongnes can he forced into the corl: at the bottom of cells, whereby the some are prevented from tailing out in case the cabinet be upset.
The convenience of such a cabinet for jeweler? use apparent without further demonstration, as it terms not only avery neatreceptacle for the said pin-tongue, but the exact size desired can be selected without the slightest trouble. It is evident that my cabinet can also he used as a receptacle for needles or the like.
