WIRING FOR SECURING STOPPERS TO BOTTLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 329,169, dated October 27, 1885.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that L ROBERT LUKE How- ARD. a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Luton, in the county of Bed ford, England, have invented acertain new and useful Wiring for Securing Stoppers in Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
In the specification of patent application filed by me on the 3d of May, 1884, I have described a Wiring for securing stoppers in loottles and means for forming the wiring on the stopper and bottle.
Figure l of the accompanying drawings is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 a plan, of this wiring as applied to the securing of a stopper in a bottle.
It consists of two pieces of wire, A, passing across the cork or other stopper, and two pieces, B, passing around the bottle-neck and below the band thereof. All four pieces of 20 wire are twisted together at each side of the bottle, as shown at O and D.
I claim- The wiring for corks or stoppers of bottles, composed of four pieces of wire twisted to- 25 gether at opposite sides of the bottle-neck, two pieces thereof going across the cork or stopper to hold the same, and the other two around the neck to form the band, substantially as set forth.
