BEDSTEAD-DRAPERY FASTENER OR SUSPENDER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD B. PULLAN, of Cincinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Compound Hinge to Unite Firmly Arms Radiating from a Common Center; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear7 and exact description of the construction ot' the same, reference being had to drawings7 making a part of this specitication.
Plate I represents perspective View of the hinge; the several arms C C C C connected with each other by the hinges B B B B and centering at a common point A. The
-arms are hollow for the fastening of wooden arms in the sockets S S. The pin 0r axis of one of the Vhinges (B) is loose and is withdrawn when the arms are to be folded.
Plate II represents the application of the hinge when the arms do not lie in the same plane lout on the line of a cone having its apex at A. At the point of convergence of the several arms -a hole II may be left through which a pin M may pass to the lower end of which a nut N may be screwed.
The head of the pin and the nut being countei-sunk, the drawing them together tightly over the shoulders p j), j) y) will strengthen the joint which is desirable in its use for tents and heavy canopies. For bed canopies, clothes horse or other light purpose the pin 1s unnecessary.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Let-ters Patent is- The uniting' three or more arms radiating from a common center by means of hinges B B B B substantially as and for the purposes described.
