Description

(No Model.) E. ANGLIM.
SHOE. I No. 313,271. Patented Mar. 3, 1885.
WI TNE55ES FT Z WEN UR NITED TATES EDWARD ANGLIM, OF BROCKTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
SHOE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 313,271, dated March 3, 1885. Application filed August 7, 1884. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD ANGLIM, of Brockton, in the county of Plymouth and State of Massachusetts, have invented new and use ful Improvements in Shoes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to low-cutshoes; and it consists of a shoe constructed substantially as shown and described-via, with onequarter, the vamp, and top or button-hole flap all in one piece.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a View of the shoe buttoned. Fig. 2 is a view of the shoe unbuttoned. Fig. 3 is a plan of the pattern of the three-quarter vamp, or the quarter, vamp, and top in one piece. Fig. 4 is a plan of the pattern of the other quarter.
From the back seam, at, around the shoe to the seam b is a single piece of leather cut from the pattern 0 and crimped into the shape shown in Figs. 1 and 2. This includes the quarter A, vamp B, and top 0, said top 0 including, as shown, the button-hole flap of a piece with and the principal part of the top. The quarter D is cut from the pattern. d.
Thus two front seamsviz., a cross-seam and the seam for the button-hole flapare dispensed with, saving so much stitching and the extra stock required at the seams, and providing less seams to give Way. A handsome and easy fit is produced, and a stylish and neat appearance obtained.
4 Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The herein-described improved shoe, provided with the quarter A, vamp B, and top 0, including the button-hole flap, all cut and made in a single piece and crimped into the shape shown, and the quarter D, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
EDWVARD ANGLIM.
