Description
UNITED STATES PATENTV OFFICEC DAVID D. KELLEY, OF YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS.
PACKAGE-WRAPPER.
JPECIPICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 310,206, dated January 6, 1885.
Application tiled December 9:2, 1883. (Model.)
To all whom t may concern.-
Be it known that I, DAvrD D. KELLEY, of Yarmouth, in the county of Barnstable and State of Massachusetts, have invented a nevi7 and useful Improvement in Package-Wrappers, which will, in connection with the accompanying drawings, be hereinafter fully described, and specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention relates to paper Wrappers composed of the usual sheets of the various sizes commonly employed for Wrapping small bundles, packages, or parcels by retail dealers; and the invention consists in a Wrapper composed of a sheet of paper having a pocket or fold therein, in which is secured a string fastening, having free ends capable of being drawn out to a suitable length, to secure, by tying, the package wrapped therein, as hereinafter more fully and particularly set forth and claimed.
lThe accompanying drawing represents my invention as composed of a sheet, A, of ordi naryWrapping-paper, having a pocket or inclosed space, B, formed thereon by folding and pasting the paper so as to leave such space to receive and hold a fastening, C, in this case composed of an ordinary twine, which string is secured in said fold, and having free` ends stored therein capable of being drawn out to suitable length, according to the size and enfolding capacity of the sheet and the requirements of the package that may be wrapped therein, to secure the same by tying.
By thus providing sheets of Wrapping-paper with a ready self-contained means of fastening of twine, of a length suited t0 the enveloping capacity of the paper, a Wrapper is produced by which both time and fastening material is economized, and the packing or Wrapping in paper bundles is greatly facilitated.
I claim as my inventionm A package-Wrapper composed of a sheet of paper, A, provided with a pocket, B, and a string-fastening, C, stored in said pocket, and having free ends capable of being drawn out to a suitable length to secure, by tying, the package Wrapped therein, substantially as specifled.
DAVID D. KELLEY.
