SPECIFICATION forming. part of Letters Patent No. 299,659, dated June 3, 1884.
Application filed -March 20, 1884.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, K. GUSTAV E. Lrnnscrr and L. REINHoLD EROHE, subjects of the King of Prussia, and residents of the city of Berlin, Prussia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Supports for Pictures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to an improved support for photographs or other pictures; and it consists of a spring-plate having bent hooks at the upper and lower ends, and a brace pivoted to the back of the same.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective View of a picture with our improved support. Fig. 2 is a side elevation, and Fig. 3 a rear View, of the same. 1

A in the drawings represents a spring-plate, made of sheet steel, brass, or other suitable metal. The spring-p1ate A is provided at the upper and lower edges with bent hooks a a, made integral therewith, said hooks serving to attach the spring-plate A to the picture,'as shown in Figs. 1 and 3. The spring-plate A is applied to the picture by first pressing on (No model.)
the center of the plate, whereby the hooks a project beyond the edges of the picture, and then relinquishing the pressure, so that the hooks a a bind on the edges, as shown, respect- 3o ively, in dotted and full lines in Fig. 2.
To a fixed stud, b, at the rear part of the plate A, is hinged a brace, B, by means of ears b, said brace supporting the picture at. the proper angle of inclination.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Asupport for pictures,consisting of a curved spring-plate provided with retaining-hooks in- 40 tegral therewith at the upper and lower ends, and of a brace that is hinged to the back of the spring-plate, substantially as set forth.
In testimony that we claim the foregoing as our invention we have signed our names, in 45 presence of two witnesses, this 20th day ofFebruary, 1884.
