No. 295,567: "Patented Mar, 25,1884.
" r INVENTOR ATTORNEY.

- NITED STATES PATENT OFFICE CHARLES LINDNER, OF OARLINVILLE, ILLINOIS.
TOILET-BRACKET,
SPECIFICATION forming part of- Letters Patent No. 295,567, dated March 25, 1884.
Application filed June 18 1883. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES LINDNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oarlinville, in the county of Macoupin and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Brackets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to improvements in portable toilet or dressing cases, .and the object thereof is to providea receptacle divided off by a partition, said partition serving as a shelf for toilet-articles, with alooking-glass pivoted or journaled in the sides of the case, whereby said glass may be swung in any position de sired, and also serve as a lid or cover to close the case when not in use; and the invention consists in the novel construction and arrange ment of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and specifically claimed.
In the annexed drawings, to which reference is made, and which fully illustrate my invention, Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of my device, and Fig. 2 is a front view of the same.
A represents the back'part of a quadrilateral case, said back being made in the form of a shield and provided with one or more holes,
a, therein, by which it.that is, the casemay be suspended to the wall or any convenient place." B is the top thereof.
O O are sides, in which the ends of a shelf, D, are secured in any suitable manner.
E is a looking-glass, also of quadrilateral form, which is journaled or pivoted in the sides of the case just a little below the line of the shelf, so that it may be swung in any desired position required.
F is an angular bottom, within which articles of any kind to be used are placed also, and are made secure from view by means of the glass when it is in its normal or proper position. I l
G G are two small bracketshelves, secured to the back and sides of the case out-side of the 5 receptacle portion of said case, which maybe used for placing ornaments of any kind there- In using my case it will only be necessary for the person so using to hang it upon nails used as a looking-glass and a lid or cover for the receptacle. r
This case can be conveniently carried around by persons traveling,'and hung up in their rooms-a great desideratum, if none should be found already t-hereand in its construction it is durable and cheap to manufacture.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a toilet-braoketcase, the combination of the case A, horizontal shelf D, bracket-shelves G'G, and pivoted glass E, substantially as described, whereby the glass is raised to a vertical position or dropped to a horizontal position to open and close the case, all constructed, arranged, and operating as and for the purposes set forth. t
In, testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES LINDNER.
