. I claim:
1. A record holder of the character described comprising: a generally U-shaped frame having an elongated base and upstanding end walls; a pair of side plates at opposite sides of said base; hinges connecting the lower edges of said plates with said opposite sides of said base so that each of said plates may be swung outwardly from a generally upright closed position to an outwardly inclined open position; means mounting each of said hinges on said base for lateral adjustment toward and away from each other to vary the spacing between said side plate lower edges and, consequently, vary the width of the holder; a pair of generally-upright supporting legs associated with each of said end walls; pivotal connections between the upper end of each leg and said wall and between an intermediate portion of each leg and the corresponding side plate, one of said pivotal connections having a generally-vertically-shiftable axis, whereby on outward swinging movement of a side plate the lower ends of the legs connected thereto are swung laterally outwardly to serve as braces to prevent the holder from overturning when the said corresponding plate is in its open position, and whereby lateral outward adjustment of a side plate hinge swings the corresponding legs outwardly to compensate for the increased width of the holder.
2. The structure defined in claim 1 in which the connection between each leg and end wall includes a generally upright slot and pivot pin arrangement whereby the pivotal axis of said connection is shiftable vertically.
3. The structure defined in claim 1 in which the means mounting the hinges includes a pair of plates parallel to and in stacked relationship to the base and adjustable pin and slot connections between said plates and said base.
