To a/ZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, HENRY S. DTMooK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Phelps, in the county of Ontario and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Hitching-Strap, of which the following is a speciiication, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
This invention relates to hitohing-straps; and it consists in certain improvements in the construction of the same, which will be hereinafter fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claim. i
In the drawings hereto annexed, Figure l is a perspective view illustrating the operation of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view showing the device detached.
The same letters refer to the same parts in both figures.
A in the drawings designates the hitchingstrap, the end of which is provided with a permanent loop, B', of sufficient size to be passed over the head of a horse. C is another small loop, arranged to slide upon the loop B and strap A, and having a snap-hook, D, secured thereto by means of rivets, or in any suitable manner.
- The operation of my invention will be readily `understood by reference to Fig. l of the drawings. the horse, and the hook D is then snapped in the bridle-ring, thereby retaining the loop C in such a position as to make it impossible for the loop B to come off the head. of the horse.
This device is simple, convenient, inexpensive, and safe, it being impossible for the horse to release itself, except by breaking the strap.
