(Cl. 150-29) This invention relates to improvements in ladies handbags, and particularly to the frame and closure members thereof.
The principal object of my invention is to provide an improved frame and closure member, which provides ready access to the handbag, and presents an attractive appearance.
The invention is described in connection with the appended drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the frame and closure members, with the latter in partly-open position;
Fig. 2 is a fragmentary perspective view of one of the hinge portions of the frame member, on an enlarged scale,
Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2, taken from the opposite side;
Fig. 4 is a fragmentary sectional view of the hinge portions, on an enlarged scale, and
Fig. 5 is an end view of the frame.

My improved handbag frame includes two U-shaped members 1 and 2, of conventional U-shaped cross-section to provide for the securing of the bag material thereto in the conventional manner. Members 1 and 2 are pivoted to other frame members 4 and 5 by conventional hinge elements shown at 3. Members 4 and 5 are also of the usual U-shape in cross section, for securing the bag material thereto. It is to be noted that members 4 and 5 are of inverted-V shape, permitting the closure members to meet in closing and form a roof-shaped closure at the apex of the inverted V structures. Conven tional closure-securing means (not shown) on closure elements 1 and 2 secures the members 1 and 2 in their closed position.
I claim:
A frame for a ladys handbag comprising end members of inverted-V form having hinge elements at the ends thereof and U-shaped frame elements having hinge elements at the ends thereof pivotably connected to the hinge elements of the inverted-V members, the frame elements being constructed for attachment of hand-bag material thereto.
