ORDER-HOLDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 273,301, dated March 6, 1883.
Application filed September 26,1882.
To all whom tt may concern:
Be it known that we, EDWARD (J. PAGE and following is a specification.
The object is to provide a convenient holder for holding and protecting original orders for goods while shipments are being made from the same and previous to filingthe orders away.
The invention consists of a cover made of four rigid parts united by three pliable connections or' hinges, and a clasp adapted to be used with the same, as hereinafter shown.
The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention.
Figure l is a perspective view of the holder complete. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the clasp. Fig. 3 is a cross section through the clasp and a portion of the other parts.
The cover consists of the central parts, A A, and the outer parts, A A, made of three-ply veneer board, or other board suitable for the purpose. These parts arepreferably united by a continuous covering of canvas, glued or'secured to both sides, there being sufficient spaces a a a between the rigid parts to allow them to be folded at the points a, where they are thus united or hinged together by the canvas; but almost any other form of hinge maybe used.

Upon receipt of an order it is put into aholder without transcribing, and goes with the holder through the different processes of getting out, making up, packing, and shipping the goods, and is then taken out of the holder and filed away.
What we claim is-- An order holder consisting of four rigid boards connected by three pliable connections or hinges, and a clamp adapted to fit over the outside of the central boards when gether, as shown.
