1 Claim. (Cl. 46-116) This invention relates to nursing bottle holders, but more particularly to an article of this kind that is foldable and releasable, and constructed of a resilient, tenacious material such as sponge rubber, or of a synthetic resin having the consistency and tenacity of one of the vinyl plastics.

One object of this invention is to produce a foldable and releasable bottle holder that is normally sanitary and easily sterilized.

Another object is to produce a nursing bottle holder with the features and configuration of a doll for the purpose of creating aesthetic effects on the child while using the article.

Another object is to so manufacture the holder that the neck and thigh portions have flexible joints in order to facilitate wrapping the doll around the bottle and releasing same to remove the bottle.

A further object is to tie the feet of the doll together forming a loop (intermediate the legs), through which the head is manipulated and held fast during nursing.

A still further object is to provide a holder of such proportions that it could not accidentally slip through the side railings of a crib, and again,

To provide a foldable and releasable bottle holder that is soft, pliable and pleasant to the human touch.

Other objects and advantages of this invention will become apparent in the following specification and appended claims, which taken together with the drawing, form a part of this application.

Now with reference to the drawing:

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the bottle holder embodying the invention, and

Fig. 2 is a perspective showing the device of Fig. I wrapped around a nursing bottle.

Referring to the drawing in detail, the numeral indicates a pliable torso to which is attached a head 11, at flexible neck 12. Arms 1313a, are also flexibly attached to torso 10.

Attached to the portion of the torso remote from the head are legs 1414a, fastened to said torso by means of flexible joints 15-15a, while said legs terminate at feet 1616a, which are tied together by means of a resilient strip 17.

2,711,052 Patented June 21, 1955 The legs 1414a are separated from each other in substantially parallel lines in order to form a loop 18 intermediate said legs for purposes to be hereinafter more fully set forth.

This pliable holder is adapted to receive any size or configuration of nursing bottle, and while the ostensible object of the article is to use it as a bottle holder, a child may also use the doll as a plaything when the bottle is released from same.

In order to operate the embodiment of this invention as illustrated, the bottle 19 is laid on abdominal portion A of torso 10, the head 11 brought toward legs 14-14a, thus bending torso 10 and said legs until head 11 is passed through loop 18 while feet 1616a pass around said head and are held fast thereto by pressure of said feet behind the back portion of head 11, while the neck 20 of the bottle protrudes through one side of the torso, with nipple 21 attached to neck 20 as shown in Figure 2.

This article may be fabricated of any suitable material and made of any desired dimensions, and while a preferred form of structure is illustrated and described, it is optional with applicant to make such departures from the embodiments shown as to come within the scope and purview of the following claims.

Having thus fully described and illustrated a preferred form of the invention in order to apprise others skilled in the art to which it appertains, what is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

The combination with a nursing bottle, of a manually foldable and releasable holder fabricated of pliable material, comprising a head, legs, feet and torso to simulate a doll, flexible members connecting the head and legs to the torso, said legs being spaced apart forming a loop to receive the head when in folded position, a resilient strip tying said feet at their free ends, the flexible member connecting the head to the torso constituting a flexible neck on which the head is adapted to be manually rotated to various angles relative to the torso and legs in order that said head may be passed through the loop for the purpose of folding the feet around the back of the head to form a bottle holder, and to be released from said position to remove the bottle.
