The Wall portion 2a of each slab element is preferably supported on the top face of the footing while the bottom end ofthe column portion overhangs the slot or depression la. The slab element is secured in position by placing the bottom end of the column portion on a grout bed 'l provided Within the depression la, the depression being preferably lled with the grout.
The adjacent slab elements are also secured and interlocked with each other by grout 8, as shown in Fig. 3.
The slab elements are fabricated or cast on the building site. They are. according to my invention, molded or cast on the previously fabricated and set concrete oor 3 which ls laid on the surface of the group G, considerably above;

3 the footing I, and with the edges 3 spaced considerably from the wall or building line.
If necessary the edge of the floor may have a groove or projection, or reinforcing (not shown) extending therefrom. In this oor are also cast anchor studs 9, or inserts for such studs, for the purpose hereinafter described.
On the surface of the floor 3 are laid forms I2 in which the slabs are separately cast. When set, the slabs are raised, by first raising the normally upper portion. They are then transported and placed or arranged on the footing I, as described above.
During the placing of the wall slabs 2 on the footing, and the setting of the grout 1 at the bottom ends thereof, the slabs are temporarily held in vertical or other desired position by one or more adjustable braces I9, which are secured at their opposite ends to the studs 9 and similar studs II anchored Within the slabs, as shown in Fig. 1.
After the wall slabs 2 are erected, as described, the space between the edge of the previously poured floor 3 and the inner side of the Wall is filled with earth or other filler F and topped with i the aforementioned floor section or slab element 4, thereby rigidly joining the iloor slab 3 with the wall slabs 2.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, there are provided suitable reinforcing rods I3, one end of each being anchored within the slabs during the fabrication of the latter.
After the walls are erected, as described, the
pilasters or half-columns of adjacent slabs are further tied together by other means, which is I here shown as the aforementioned beam or girder 5'. The latter element. or a continuation of sev- Aeral, also ties together the opposite walls of the building. It may be either cast in place or pre- `cast. In the end portion of beam 5 is anchored -a plate I4, which is welded to a plate I5 which `may be anchored within the upper end of each column portion 2b. As shown, anchor studs I6 are provided in each of the column portions, and the plate I5 is secured to the ends of the column portions by the studs I6, thereby additionally tying together the slabs at their upper portions. Thus.
p adjacent slabs are secured together by the plate I5 and the beam 5, and the opposite walls are stabilized with respect to each other by the beam 5 or a series of them.
The slabs 6, which may be floor or roof elements, may be supported on the beam or beams 5 and on the upper portions of the wall comprising the slabs 2.
Though I have disclosed and described a particular method of constructing a concrete or similar building, or portions of a structure, and have 4 described specific steps in carrying out my method, I do not wish to be limited to the same, but desire to include in the scope of my invention the method and steps substantially as set forth in the appended claims.
I claim:
1. A method of constructing a concrete wall and fioor supported on the ground comprising laying a footing in a trench with the upper surface of the footing below the surface of the ground, casting a concrete floor on the surface of the ground adjacent to and spaced from the footing, casting concrete wall panels on the cast floor and allowing the panels to set, raising the wall panels and setting them in an upstanding position on the footing, applying grout on the footing and against the wall panels for joining the wall panels and the footing, bracing the wall panels in position, lling the space between the panels and the sides of the footing trench and casting a concrete oor section on the trench fill from the concrete floor to the panels.
2. A method of constructing a concrete wall and floor supported on the ground comprising laying a footing with a grooved upper surface in a trench with the upper surface of the footing below the surface of the ground, casting a concrete floor on the ground adjacent to and spaced from the footing, casting concrete Wall panels on the cast floor and allowing the panels to set, raising the wall panels and setting them in an upstanding position outwardly of the groove of the footings and on the footings, applying grout into the groove and against the wall panel for joining the wall panels and the footing, bracing the wall panels in position, filling this space between the panels and the sides of the footing trench, and casting a concrete floor section on the trench fill from the concrete floor to OTHER REFERENCES Journal of the American Concrete Institute; pages 803-810; May 1948.
